Alex was very knowledgable about all things to do with stars and galaxies and the universe in general. His amazing telescope allowed us to see things we've never even thought about before, like dead stars and galaxies far far away. The night we booked was too windy, so we were glad he was able to fit us in another night. It was quite cold for an April night, but we were prepared and he provided blankets to keep us comfortable.

What a wonderful night viewing stars and other galaxies through a high-powered telescope. Alex is deeply knowledgeable and he was so nice to our children. We learned a lot from him and he explains astronomy in an inspiring way. The 2-hours were truly engaging and a highlight of our trip to southern Utah. Definitely do this! And be sure to wear warm clothes as it gets cold at night. Here’s a photo of Alex.

My husband, son (aged 8) and I really enjoyed our night with Alex. This is not about constellations, but it was amazing. We saw other galaxies, nebulas and a dead star. The group size was small and we all got plenty of time to look down the telescope. Alex had blankets to help keep us warm, but layer up! If you have some interest in the sky above I would highly recommend you take a trip.

What an amazing night, found Redrock through a random interweb search so wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Turned out to be a great night and one of our best experiences in Moab. Alex took the time to explain what we were looking at and made sure everyone in the group had an opportunity to view through the telescope. From Nebulas to star clusters and even galaxies we were able to see it all!

The week before arriving at Moab, I found Red Rock Astronomy while searching for a good place to stargaze. After reading the reviews, we decided to add this to our itinerary and it was worth it.

Alex, our astronomer, not only had use at the perfect location but with his equipment and sheer knowledge, I think I learned more about the cosmos than whatever was taught to me in school.
