“Beautiful Location, hospitality disappointing”
Reviewed 8 October 2011

The Inn is situated in a beautiful environment, about 20 miles from Moab. We stayed in the entrada room. A nice room, clean, but not very big. The gardens are big and beautiful. In the garden is a big hot tube, which can be used by the guests. The quality of the breakfast is very good and absolutely very tasty. Having read this, why not an "excellent". Before we arrived, we have been in several other Inns and Bed&Breakfast locations with a comparable price. And in all those locations the hospitality of the Inn-keeper was much better and the amenities of the locations were just as good or even better. Some examples: We arrived at the Inn at 3.15 PM en nobody was present. Just a paper on the door mentioned the host would be back at 4.00 PM. As said, the garden is beautifull as well as the patio, but there are no lights, so you can not make use of the patio in the evening, if you want to read a book, for example. Breakfast can only be served at 08.00 am, 08,30 am or 09.00 am. We had breakfast at 08.00 am,but after half an hour we were asked to leave, because other guests were waiting for our table. I can imagine it is rush-hour for the Inn-keeper , but I think he has to realise that guests have vacation and want to enjoy of their ( excellent) breakfast and the beautiful environment, in which breakfast has been served.

The room was fine (we got the least expensive one; perhaps the others had more amenities), the breakfast was very nice, but the view (preferably from the hammock) was outstanding. We also enjoyed reading in the living room, munching delicious chocolate chip cookies. A great option if you don't need to stay in downtown Moab.

Castle valley was just perfect, its probably the greenest little patch in the middle of fiery red canyons. Its a good balance between B&B and hotel. You get a chance to speak to other guests and still have your privacy. There are several tourist traps in Moab, Castle valley is not one of them. A shout out to the breakfast, it was just superb! The long drive from town is definitely worth it. The scenic drive does not get old no matter how many times you drive back and forth to town.

We loved staying at Castle Valley Inn. Our accommodations were great. The owners were super friendly. We will be back there again when we're in the Moab, UT area!

A green and tranquil oasis, with views of the dramatic red Castle Valley hills/mountains all around. Loved the location - really fabulous.

Spotlessly clean, really comfortable cabin (we were in the Sommerville), with good cooking facilities.

Great, fresh breakfasts on the deck at the main house. Jeanette, Jason and Marta all made us feel incredibly welcome.

It's a 30 minute drive or so from Moab, but some of the adventure companies (eg MMoab Adventure Centre) will pick up from nearer to Castle Valley as they pass, so it's worth checking this when making bookings, to save an unnecessary drive.
