Beautiful old Inn. We were the first to check in so we sneak peaked at all the other rooms as the rooms were open door. Wow, there are beautiful rooms and furnishings, some with great views. The suites are stunning. We were in room 8 on the main floor. Beautiful big room, fireplace, small jaccuzi in the corner by the windows. Beautiful back lighted stained glass in our room, stained glass in all the rooms and dining rooms. This room has a door out to the sidewalk/porch, which means other guests walk by your windows. But, it is nice to have a direct path to the parking lot to load or unload without going through the front of the hotel. There are shades to pull for privacy, but I would get a room upstairs if they are open for more privacy and open shades. Positives are the Inn itself, woodwork, furnishings, etc... The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. We had a 5 course dinner and 2 course breakfast, all fabulous food, our desserts average. Plenty of hot water for the hot tub and showers. Nice stereo & fireplace. There were a few minor glitches with dinner that subtracted from the experience-table next to the entryway even though many other were open, no candle on our table but on all others occupied, butter arriving after we consumed some bread by dipping into our soup. The room heating is boiler/hot water, you can't see the radiators but you can hear them when they kick in. The bed was very comfy but the pillows were foam and not comfy. Bathroom was cold compared to the room. Tile floor in bathroom was very cold and no rug. No robes but towels for exiting the hot tub even though we saw robes in the more upscale rooms or suites. Minor things, but for $200+ a night, we expect better as other B & B's we stayed at. Even though, we would definitely stay again. There was a comment card for our opinions, and management emailed me today for feedback, so they are willing to listen and improve which impresses me.
