“Great museum and grounds!”
Reviewed 2 February 2012

Very informative and well-done museum. Grounds well cared for. Great place to walk! Along with the adjacent national cemetary, an excellent memorial to veterans and prisoners of war. Well worth a trip out of your way.

“A great piece of Civil War history.”
Reviewed 27 January 2012

I had read many books about the Civil War and have visited many battlefields. But to visit the site for prisoners of war was sad but needed, to remind us what we as a country have been through. the museum was very interesting and it had many great artifacts from the prison.

“Glad we had the opportunity to visit”
Reviewed 21 January 2012

We stopped in for a quick visit to the museum and a drive through the site. The museum is very well done. We learned a lot and were touched by the videos/displays. Unfortunately we did not have time to take advantage of audio tapes that you can use for a self guided drive through the property.

“Great for history...”
Reviewed 18 January 2012

... but pretty boring. If you're a history buff and really into the civil war, it's worth checking out - otherwise skip it. Little kids will be bored stiff!
