Nicely located a block from union square shopping. The outside hall way and main room had been recently renovated. The room was spacious with a full size couch and comfortable bed. There was a small refrigerator, microwave oven, plates, cups, coffee maker, utensils and a separate sink. There was a reasonably sized closet with two luggage stands and hangers. The mitsubishi air conditioner was quiet.
The bathroom was the only part of the room that was obviously not undated and there was some obvious patch job going on. I would assume with the rest of the renovations going on at the time this bathroom would eventually get completed.
The other noticeable thing is the relatively thin main door as you can easily hear normal level talking right outside. Street noise through the single window pane was at a moderate level during the day and early night so if you are a light sleeper this may be a problem.
Overall this was a good place to stay as it was conveniently placed and the staff was generally nice and helpful. The room was slightly above average but due to the still-in-the-works bathroom there is room to improve.

Have stayed at fishermans wharf before and was disappointed so this time we decided to stay centrally!
Wow! The room was huge! The bed was really really comfortable .. Especially after the flight from England!
Lovely piano bar to relax in and a great pool and jacuzzi. The guest services on the roof level with complimentary coffee etc. was a great place to get information and staff generally couldn't have been more helpful.
Excellent central location .. Walking distance to most everywhere .. Being eruropean we walk.
The price was exceptional and was far cheaper than many hotels of a much lesser standard!!
Would definitely stay here again next time.

Stayed here for 2 nights on our way back from New Zealand.Lovely comfortable room on the 9th floor.Reception was very helpful nothing too much trouble. The 15th floor was a bonus with its comfy chairs and drinks especially the hot chocolate, but we found the service there stopped at 10.00 and not 10.30.as was advertised. The room was quiet except for sunday morning between 7.00 and 8.00 when it seemed as if the whole city was being awakened and called to prayer. Not what we wanted after a long sleepless flight. The bath was lovely after 4 weeks of only showers.A kettle in the room would have been nice but we did manage to boil water using the microwave. The hotel was very central and ideal for the shops.

Room Tip: Ask for a high quiet room

We picked the Donatello for location (a block from Union Square). The room was very large, on the off-street side of the building (desired to minimize noise), with enormous sunny windows. Mini-bar style kitchen with fridge, microwave, and bar sink plus minimum dishware. Unusual tv-in-mirror in bathroom. When our HVAC started pouring water, maintenance was up within a minute and fixed it and that was the only major problem. One minor issue is the lack of a dresser or drawers-the only clothing storage is a single closet, even though there's a floor-to-ceiling wood entertainment unit, it has no shelves or drawers except for the space for the TV and DVD player. Wireless connection VERY SLOW unless you're on a shell account. Very good selection of cable channels. All pillows are king-sized, so if you travel with a smaller anti-allergen pillow case you're out of luck. All parking is valet only.

Room Tip: If you want quiet, request a higher floor on the south side. But even there the soundproofing isn...
