They are still bragging about their many-years-old renovation! The public areas are tired, threadbare and unbelievably uncomfortable. The furniture and decor in the rooms is remarkably uncomfortable, and the style is something straight out of a decorator's=rejects book. But what really generated this cranky don't-even-think-about-making-a-reservation-here review was our recent treatment on several recent stays. We are Starwood Platinum members and, in fact, stay in SPG properties well over 100 nights/year. But on this last trip, we were forced to move rooms part way into our week stay, downgraded to a horrible room, treated like scum by the front desk on multiple occasions, ignored and then argued with by "Engineering" when they could or would not repair our non-functioning AC, and generally treated like 3rd-class customers while they made room for the Starwood convention (themselves!) attendees at our expense. We are going to have to rethink our long term loyalty to SPG and especially to this hotel!
