Be aware, the area of Union square is full of hotels and it's easy to find a hotel that is not as dodgy and overpriced as this one,
Some things to note: Internet is charged. Not only per guest but per device. So with two guests, latops and iphones, you can add another 60+ dollars which you can better spend at a better hotel with cheaper wifi. Lot's of em with free wifi in San Francsico by the way.
I ran in to some trouble on my room. The booking said double room, but it appeared to have only one bed. Hotel service (up to the manager on duty), didn't give an inch. Their double rooms have only one bed. How could I know? And i didn't book with the hotel directly but through Amex. So what?
Since I didn't want to sleep in one bed with my 200 pound buddy, I was squeezed into a 30 dollar per day extra room charge for a second bed. What could I do after 13 hours of travel and 9 hours jet lag?
By accident exactly the same happened to me at the Ritz Carlon in L.A. recently. They gave us two rooms next to each other, not a word but "sorry for the inconvenience". that's what I call service.
