My hubbie and I stayed at this hotel in October 2011. We thought it was a good hotel in a good area. It was about 6 blocks from Union Square - well within walking distance! The bathroom was ok, clean but in need of renewing, and the beds were a good size and very clean. The room overlooked I guess the back of the hotel but it wasnt at all noisy.
The free wine hour was great - we gave the two guys a tip and they gave you refills even before you needed them. The music was - erm well - unique to say the least :) But it was different and fun and you get to chat with people you dont know. We didnt use the restaurant because of the price. For breakfast we always used Lori's Diner 500 Sutter street which was great - we even had a dinner in here. I would recommend this hotel as a cheap alternative, but if I go back to San Francisco I will probably stay near Union Square.More
