Visited the Proper Hotel in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco the other night at 5:30pm for drinks at the Charmaine's roof top and had dinner in the lobby area later. The food was absolutely delicious the healthy, clean, small servings and just tasty as all get out! I believe it is Villion, even tho we were in the lobby.
The Charmaine was another story, just a hassle to get in because, I believe of the fire code, they have fire pits there which is a little dicey, the view is absolutely tremendous and the whole idea is great except for the fact that they can only have so many people up there at once. Hence, standing in, waiting to go up in the service elevator, as it's an older building, which looks to be kept in tack, so no new elevators, etc.
Service was ok. Seems like everybody was running around to serve everyone, cause the crowd kinda comes at once.
The area is being gentrified so don't be alarmed if it looks dicey.
And across the street, the landmark, old Hibernia Bank, is undergoing a change also.
Did not stay at the hotel, sorry can't report on that.More
