“Great hotel, great location!”
Reviewed 9 July 2012

Stayed for the first couple days on business and then with my husband for weekend vacation and was perfect for both. Located near all major public transportation (BART, Muni, Trolley) so very easy to get anywhere. The room is not huge, by any means, but perfectly adequate for a room in the city, and the bathroom is sufficiently sized so you don't feel like you have to sit on the toilet to brush your teeth. My #1 priority in hotels is cleanliness and this one was great. Conditioner that actually worked was a bonus! Concierge greeted us each time we passed- it's the little things! Would definitely stay here again!

Found this hotel ore by accident than design but it proved to be a really great spot. Comfortable room, spacious well appointed bathroom and very friendly and helpful staff. Location is great for the centre of Town and only disappointment was the bar which lacked atmosphere and closed far too early!

Room Tip: Take the roon upgrades if they are offered at reasonable cost as it does make a difference being on...

Stayed here for five days for my organization's board meeting. This is a clean, well-tended and efficient hotel, really well-located in downtown San Francisco. I found the staff extremely helpful and courteous; they didn't even laugh at me when I went down for a cigarette in the middle of the night in my sweatpants. Smiled maybe, but didn't laugh.

The downstairs Starbucks is useful, the gym and the pool quite nice and worth the $20, and all in all I would stay here again.

Room Tip: My room looked out over the East towards the Bay...really lovely.

We booked our trip through expedia and got the upgraded imperial rooms that were included as a special on expedia. We were traveling with 4 kids two 12yo girls and two17yo boys, so we booked two rooms. After reading many reviews on tripadvisor, we decided to stay here. We were very happy. The staff hotel is top-notch and most appear of asian influence, which we feel are some of the kindest, most gracious and hard-working staff we have come in contact with. They always seem to have a smile on their face which goes a long way with putting us at ease after a very long flight from Indiana. This hotel is right in the heart of San Francisco. It is just steps away from Union Square where you will find lots of shops and the Westfield Mall. Stores galore! Powell street will take you all the way to Fisherman's Wharf where a lot of action on the bay goes on. We booked a bicycle trip with Bay City Bikes that took us across the Golden Gate bridge and then into Sausalito-This is a fantastic trip and gives one a great perspective of the flavor of San francisco and the historic golden gate. Our guide's name was Richard and he was really cool and helpful. My boys liked him because he was younger (prob 22) and could relate to them on the cool stuff to do in san Francisco. My boys brought their skate boards and skated the hills of San Fran about 20mph! It was cool to watch them every time we headed to the wharf. Get ready to walk up hill, but no fear, where one goes up, they must come back down. Needless to say we got great workouts. We did lots of other things which you will have to find in other review areas of attractions and restaurants etc. on trip advisor. At Hotel Nikko,we had turn-down service with chocolates which the girls appreciated. Our maid cleaned every day and did great job. Definitely upgrade to the imperial room. You get continental breakfast included and one buffet pass per room per day. We had two rooms so two passes and we let our boys and girls take turns using the buffet pass at the hotel restaurant, Anzu. This was such a good deal and we will definitely return to Hotel Nikko without a doubt! Thank you to all staff. Esp. Christopher, the concierge, who worked both the front desk and concierge desk. He deserves a gold star!

Room Tip: Floors 22 and up are imperial rooms and well worth the value of cont. brkfst daily and early evening...

This weekend an event was held at the Hotel Nikko. Their bargin priced rooms for attendees were $149.00. A reasonable price for a four star hotel. This was not even close to being a four star facility. I could have booked the Huntington months ago for $179.00. The dinner that accompanied the event was priced at $65.00. They ran out of food so at least 25% of the attendees paid $65.00 for the remaining left over fried rice. Okay, no problem, you got nothing for your $65.00 other than the company of the other fools that bought into this event as well. Go back to your room and order room service so that you will not starve. Nope. What decent hotel in San Francisco, a cultural and food mecca, does not have a late night dining menu. If you are considering this facility, one word, DON'T.
