On our first night we killed one small cockroach that was walking over the bed. We wondered if it maybe got in from the window, so at first we didn't think much of it. Not too long after we found a second one and went downstairs to complain on the front desk. I went up to fetch a jacket and once i opened the room i saw a couple more shuffling to get under the bed. There was another one in the closet. We packed in a hurry and they put us on another room, claiming the roaches were the guests fault since they usually left windows opened. The twist was that this other room was ot clean - crumbs littered the floor. The bathroom window was also impossible to close fully, meaning their claim that guests were to blame was basically hogwash. We left the hotel and even though they refunded me for one night they refused to cancel the charges for the remaining 5 I would spend there, claiming that their "reparations were sufficient". Expecting your guests spend +1k USD to stay at a roach infested hotel in a dirty room is "sufficient reparation". Booked another hotel then and there. If you are looking for a boutique experience, there are better options, which respect their guests. Hotel Carlton is one I can reccomend.
