I did the Four Course Menu and it was pure heaven. Period.
-MARKET GREENS & HERBS, avocado, seeds, mandarin, honey-lime
-SOFT-COOKED EGG, nori, puffed rice, bacon, salmon roe
-DUCK, spring alliums & greens, black garlic tahini, kumquat
-FROZEN CHOCOLATE, huckleberry, bourbon meringue, cacao nib
Every bite of every dish was thoroughly brilliant and left me trying to figure out what I was even tasting. Can legitimately say that I experienced flavor combinations that I had never before and was wholly unprepared for. Absolutely Excellent and worth every penny. Impeccable service and hospitality all around.

The atmosphere is pleasant, and though there were no change tables in the washrooms, there were high chairs available.

The brunch dishes were varied - our favourites were certainly the melt-in-your mouth buttermilk biscuits and the inventive sweet potato waffles. Try the duck, but you can skip the trout roe and the savoury cocoa sea salt toast.

A small very interesting resto. It is a farm to table. We had heard about the restaurant from a bartender and a customer that highly recommended it. We were lucky to get a reservation for the following night. You can either order a four course prefix or à la carte. We chose à la carte and were not disappointed.Would recommend this restaurant.

We got a recommendation to try Aster for brunch, and enjoyed trying it out. It is in a lovely area of the Mission, which is worth walking around as well.
The menu is small, but offers a nice range of choices. Our group enjoyed the full range of small plates, and found the biscuits to be excellent. The breakfast sandwich was very tasty although the meat was quite fatty and the whole thing hard to hold together. The quiche was good (get their early - it runs out). And the duck hash was a hit - apparently a house favorite.
We'd probably go back, but would love to see a simple omelette or egg choice on the menu for folks with dietary restrictions.
