If you are a foodie, this is not your place, but if you like good traditional diner food, give this place a shot. Omelettes, burgers, fish and chips, soups and salad are all solid in an unpretentious, old school way. Most breakfast items come with an English muffin, rather than toast. You can substitute sliced tomatoes, cottage cheese, or a salad (two bean, croutons, and lettuce). With lunch items you can substitute soup (nice red clam chowder on the day we visited). What is exceptional is the view. The restaurant overlooks the ruins of San Francisco's famous Sutro Baths, Seal Rock, and the Pacific Ocean. I love the stand of very old cypress tress on the hill above. Two cautions: Especially on weekends waits, can be long for a window seat (recommended) and parking can be hard to find. I recommend wearing a pair of sturdy shoes and hiking down to the Sutro Baths or ocean views above (a 20 to 45 minute activity depending on your range and speed) after you sign in at the restaurant and get advised of the wait time. For parking, look above rather than below. These a parking lot opposite and one on the same side behind the Sutro lookout. Street parking is also easier above.
