If you are a foodie, this is not your place, but if you like good traditional diner food, give this place a shot. Omelettes, burgers, fish and chips, soups and salad are all solid in an unpretentious, old school way. Most breakfast items come with an English muffin, rather than toast. You can substitute sliced tomatoes, cottage cheese, or a salad (two bean, croutons, and lettuce). With lunch items you can substitute soup (nice red clam chowder on the day we visited). What is exceptional is the view. The restaurant overlooks the ruins of San Francisco's famous Sutro Baths, Seal Rock, and the Pacific Ocean. I love the stand of very old cypress tress on the hill above. Two cautions: Especially on weekends waits, can be long for a window seat (recommended) and parking can be hard to find. I recommend wearing a pair of sturdy shoes and hiking down to the Sutro Baths or ocean views above (a 20 to 45 minute activity depending on your range and speed) after you sign in at the restaurant and get advised of the wait time. For parking, look above rather than below. These a parking lot opposite and one on the same side behind the Sutro lookout. Street parking is also easier above.

It is something horrible. Plates served as for pigs, burgers and sandwiches only in their menu. And cash only! Very very bad. Don't even think to eat here.

I have eaten here more times than I can count. Rachel with the flower in her hair was my wait person for a couple of decades. Since her retirement, the newer wait staff are fun and helpful, but, they are not Rachel. The food is basic and delicious. There are several Vegan options. I LOVE this little restaurant.

This place is a hidden gem. If you're not looking for it specifically it's easy to drive right by. It's a tiny little diner on the side of the cliff in Point Lobos. When you read the menu, it's got an 80-year history. So cool.

We got sat at the bar stools so we could eat right away. Our view was of the coffee machine, etc. But if you sit at an actual booth, the views are stunning. Huge crashing waves, the old Sutro Baths. Amazing location.

My friends had breakfasts and loved them. I ordered the organic, vegan burger. This is how vegan burgers should taste! Loved it! I was surprised a tiny diner like this had such an awesome option for me as a vegan.

Cash only! Bring some or use their ATM.

Visiting San Francisco? Ocean Beach is a must see. A perfect place to grab a bite and watch the water. But Cliff House is expensive and The Beach Chalet's food is Ok but not great. Want a good place to eat with a view of the Pacific Ocean on the longest most beautiful beach in the city? Check out Louis' for really good affordable food - eggs, waffles, burgers, salads, BLTs, soup, sandwiches. Situated above the ruins of historic Sutro Baths, on a clear day you can see past the Marin Headlands to the distant Farallon Islands. After breakfast or lunch walk the beach, climb the baths, stroll around Lands End to see the Golden Gate Bridge, or just sit on a bench by the beach and watch the surfers. When I feel like spending a lot of money, I might go to Cliff House. If I want a beer I'll go to the Chalet, but for a good meal, a little relaxation and an amazing view Louis' is the best.
