Great hotel, close to everything, free underground car park, for small cars only, breakfast was okay for a quick sit and go meal, rooms impeccably clean, was on third floor no noise, WiFi was a headache though couldn't get much reception, mattress was beautiful to sleep in, very affordable would use again....

The best thing about the hotel is the location and the cost. The staff on arrival were not very professional and didn't seem to what us there. Our room had an off-putting smell (we had to spray perfume to cover it) and all the furniture was tired and old with the fridge hanging off the wall. The bed was very soft and not very comfortable. They claim to have a garage but our car (Mustang) wouldn't fit in so you may as well add $20 fee for each 24hrs you wish to stay the accommodation costs. Breakfast was very limited but the cookies and muffins were nice. In a nutshell cheap and cheerful but a central location and you just need somewhere to sleep.

We stayed in the Mayflower hotel for a week in March 2012. We liked the place - it is not new, but clean and neat. Besides, it is a walking distance from the Union Square, it is quiet and there are many small and nice restaurants in the area. The staff were just excellent - very helpful and welcoming every day of our stay there. When we asked for a hairdryer, ironing board, iron, even a vase, they gave these to us at once. Plus there's a nice library/computer in the hotel, wifi. And what is really great - there's a small kitchenette (microvawe, fridge, sink, glasses and plates) and a small wardrobe room in your room. We will definitely stay there next time!

Place is clean, creepy little haunt. Old school elevator, strange furniture in the rooms, feels like grandmas apartment. Close to the wharf, union station and chinatown. The price is right and you won't be in your room much so its perfect. They are helpful at the front desk also.
Cons...parking is 2 long blocks away and 20$ a night, free parking if your car is smaller then a mini coupe. For some reason the room we got was above the alley where the loudest and longest trash pick up ever existed....at 5 am... nobody seemed to be staying there on a mon night in winter, so why not give us a quiet room, perhaps on a lower floor.

I appreciate the very friendly and efficient service I received. Hotel is a close walk to major points of interest. The room was clean and had everything I needed (small kitchen with fridge, Wifi, TV); a bit outdated but really OK. Good free continental breakfast included (and if you like more fruit like I do, the hotel is next to a small market that has plenty :-) For the area, it's a great deal.
