The location is good and provides parking. There is no air conditioning and hotel looks a bit old but overall value for money.

It was a great hotel at a reasonable rate for San Francisco. It was clean, quiet and well located. We chose the back of the hotel bc it was quiet side (there is no view which was fine by us). Only a few blocks from union square. Parking was included, although it's a tight squeeze! We had no trouble with the WiFi in the rooms so were very happy with that. Breakfast was included but we didn't eat much of it as it lacked protein - mainly coffee, bread/toast, peanut butter, nutella, muffins/pastries/baked goods, homemade cookies, yogurt and cereal. As many other reviews have said, the closet is huge! The bathtub was also a bit deeper than standard hotel tubs which made for a nice soak at the end of day after walking all day. We also asked for a newer mattress as possible so felt the bed was pretty comfortable.

It's up some pretty large hills which was good exercise. It's not in the best neighborhood but it didn't affect us - just walk towards union square and it's fine.

Value for money is definitely there and we would return!

When you consider what you get for your money this place is a gem! Located on bush street, 10 minutes to union square, Chinatown etc and 5 min walk to Powell street where you can get th cable car to fishermans wharf via crookedest street. Parking was free, as was breakfast and wifi - all for $103.95 per night Inc tax! We got a double room on 5th floor and didn't hear any street noise at all. This is an old building and they have kept it that way. If you like character then this place is for you. If you like standard hotel rooms like Marriott etc then it is not! Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was not the best we have seen on our travels as no cereal or yoghurt. Was toast and eggs with some dry muffins and cookies so not great but does the job. Wi fi is again not the fastest but it does work at an acceptable speed. Yes the entrance to the car park is narrow, we had a Chevrolet Malibu and it squeezed in just fine! You might scratch your wheels if your car is any wider than this and you must have folding wing mirrors otherwise they will be damaged! Don't worry about the tenderloin area - this hotel is further from it than the Fairmont!

I researched this hotel as we wanted something near Union square at a reasonable cost. We were very surprised by the hotel, our room had a nice new kitchen and nice view. Staff were very helpful and added bonus was the breakfast every morning ...you could smell the home baking...would certainly recommended it to anyone we stayed 6 nights

Room Tip: excellent value for money so close to Union square..

That's a old, but nice hotel.
Great value. Free breakfast [very simple, but ok].
Clean and spacious rooms. Friendly staff.
It's very centrally located, near to Union Square, in a quiet street.
I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Mayflower!
