The Basque-inspired food here was excellent, and the atmosphere is quiet/refined with prompt and friendly service. My husband (he's taken foodie courses at CIA) was in awe of the rack of lamb meal he choose. It was a great place for us to dine and unwind after traveling that day to San Francisco. It's close to Embarcadero and Market Street area hotels. It appears to attractive business travelers and business meetings as the banquet room was busy the Monday night we were there. I think the owner waited on our table and he was friendly and unrushed with our service. Soothing and tranquil would be a good way to describe it.
