We arrived at 9:30AM. They got us in our room by 12:00PM. We had a wonderful time. Crew is A+ especially Andy in the restarant and Mr. James conserige, most helpful, and very affordable considerering prices in the area. Nice buffet breakfast and free internet, can't beat it.

When I enter this establishment, I feel like I am stepping into hallowed ground. The first obvious difference from any other hotel in this area are the displays commemorating the proud history of the US Marine Corps; if you are lucky, you may be greeted by two bulldogs wearing Marine uniforms, or the pup who has already outgrown his first uniform. The third floor hallways have extensive bios displayed for every commandant since the Revolutionary War. The 11th floor has a memorial to all Marines who have given their lives defending the country. On every floor there are tributes to the sacrifices and accomplishments of the Marine Corps throughout their history. On this trip, a small plaque caught my attention; it had the names of six 15-16 year old Marines killed in action in several different wars. I increase my knowledge of and appreciation for the Marine Corps on every visit. There is a superb gym with every conceivable piece of workout equipment in the basement, including a serious three lane lap pool. The top floor houses the superb Leatherneck Grill with breathtaking views of San Francisco, great breakfast buffet, delicious dinners (had the rack of lamb this time), and outstanding service(!). I am not a Marine but I believe everyone should spend some time perusing the displays and increasing their awareness and appreciation for this great branch of the military. The arrangement of the rooms make you feel more like you are staying in someone's very comfortable home than in some kind of commercial property. I suspect that all of this great hospitality and service is attributable to a staff truly dedicated to the mission of maintaining this tribute to the Marine Corps and their members; it starts with the "landlord", Major General Myatt, USMC (ret.) who served in two wars. I highly recommend this hotel experience!

Room Tip: Stay in the suite with the outdoor balcony!

What a location & view from 12th floor.
So proud of my sailor husband. To have the right to rub shoulders with a great bunch of folk. Esp. At 1700. You know what people are really like with a bit of etoh aboard.

Breakfast is included plus 2 hour happy hour free drinks 4-6pm every night so factor that into your price as a lot of other hotels wont include this an San Francisco is an expensive city!

After learning this place existed, it is the only place we stay in San Fran now. Zero complaints: great location, nice staff, historic building, well appointed rooms, great breakfast buffet, complimentary evening reception. Excellent all the way around. If you military of any type, you get a fairly sizeable discount on room rates.
