Just happened upon this restaurant as we were walking through the neighborhood—what a gem of a place.
From the moment we were greeted by the front of house to our server, we felt as if we had been invited to dine in someone’s home. This is an intimate dining experience (the tables are close together as one would find in a Mediterranean restaurant); we had a great conversation with folks at the next table. There is a small outdoor space as well.
The server offered suggestions about the menu and the wine list. We ordered as we went along to pace our appetites. The food was fresh and delicious.
Mint was added to the melon and prosciutto which gave it an extra zing. The white gazpacho (made with almonds) had too much sherry vinegar for my taste. Lamb skewer was really tasty.
I would highly recommend Contigo for an unique San Francisco dinner out.
