Just happened upon this restaurant as we were walking through the neighborhood—what a gem of a place.
From the moment we were greeted by the front of house to our server, we felt as if we had been invited to dine in someone’s home. This is an intimate dining experience (the tables are close together as one would find in a Mediterranean restaurant); we had a great conversation with folks at the next table. There is a small outdoor space as well.
The server offered suggestions about the menu and the wine list. We ordered as we went along to pace our appetites. The food was fresh and delicious.
Mint was added to the melon and prosciutto which gave it an extra zing. The white gazpacho (made with almonds) had too much sherry vinegar for my taste. Lamb skewer was really tasty.
I would highly recommend Contigo for an unique San Francisco dinner out.

Thank Steve S

Three of us had the tasting menu at dinner, and it was a wonderful choice. The cooking appears to be a contemporary and local take on traditional Spanish dishes. Flavors were deep and varied from course to course. Nothing disappointed. I would return in a heartbeat.

A letdown. Food was pretty good but service was lackluster. Seats were uncomfortable. Tons of families with kids even at 8 pm. I won't go back. Too many great restaurants in SF to tolerate this mediocrity.

This is a great neighborhood restaurant that serves tapas and other small plates in a casual setting. It is a relatively small restaurant and can be noisy with families with small children, but the noise level was never overwhelming. The menu selection included the expected (Pan con Tomate, and patatas bravas) but also some unusual options such as roasted Monterey sardine and Avocado Toast. Waitstaff could have been more attentive but was friendly and knowledgeable. I have to agree with some of the other reviews here that the wine choices can be pricey. Overall though, a friendly place and a good experience.

I have been here three times and the past two times it has been very good. They have a very good tasting menu and the service is good. The wines are pricy but I found a good red under $40.
