We arrived at Fisherman's Wharf and saw a great display of seafood lined up in kiosks along the sidewalk.
We walked through the kiosks and sat inside.
Our mistake was that we thought the outside food was available inside.
We ordered off a menu and had the worst food and beer during our 4 day trip to SF.
We left the restaurant desperate for a cold beer.
After doing a google search on Bars we found Jacks a short 2-3 blocks away.
Jacks the Arrival:
We entered Jacks and immediately were impressed by the bar and woodwork.
The staff was also friendly.
We ordered a couple of Beers and they were both Fresh and Ice Cold.
We ordered another drink then had to run to catch a city tour.
We came back to Jacks after the city tour.
We came back to Jacks again after dinner.
We came back again on the day that we left.
If we had more time we would have gone back again.
The Burgers looked great but we wanted Oysters. On our last day we were planning on having a drink at Jacks and Oysters across the street. Fortunately we found out that jacks also served Oysters so we stayed. At first we only ordered six since we were suspect about the quality. Once we tasted the first one we ordered another dozen.
If we had another day we would have liked to try the burgers and/or fish and chips as well.
Thing to know beforehand:
Jacks is CASH Only but they do have an ATM inside.
What we would change:
They only offer drinks in American Pint Glasses.
At home in Chicago this is typically a deal breaker for me.
It would have been great to have a Guinness in the proper glass.
