The hotel is well placed for Union Square. The lobby has a sort of late medieval theme that luckily is not carried through to the rooms.
The rooms are a reasonably size. My guess is that they have not been decorated for a few years, but they are clean and functional.
All the staff including the cleaners and maintenance men are very friendly and helpful.
Around breakfast time, orange juice and coffee are provided in communal points on some (all?) of the floors.
Room service is basic, you order from the hotel and they buy the food from a small cafe two doors along and add a few dollars for their trouble, which is fair enough.
The cafe is very basic, but does excellent breakfasts.
Valet parking is about $36 a day.
So if you want a clean reliable hotel that is very well placed for Union Square you couple do a lot worce than this one.
