All of SF condensed in few minutes walk. A great place for food lovers (seafood), shopping (gifts), drinks. If the weather is good - you can walk back and forth to 39

Walked up and down while the merchants hawked their crabs, chowder, and menus. Eat inside, sitting outside, or walking around.

A lot of the reviews suggest it is too touristy. Yes ,there are crowds, yes there are lots of places to part with your money, but seriously folks,do you have a museum mechanique in your town? It is basically the history of arcade in one place. Load up with quarters and nickels and go back in time. Loads of food and souvenirs. Visit the sea lions at the end of the pier. Finish off at the Boudin sourdough bakery. You will be amazed.

Lots to do, shops, restaurants, sights, boats and people watching. The fresh seafood at the fish row is very fun. Bring a jacket because it is on the water.
