This is a great place for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon stroll looking out over the bay. There;s a great view of the Bay BRidge, and foodies should definitely make a stop at the Ferry Building where there is sometimes a farmers market. Also, the stalls inside the Ferry Building sell gournet foods like cheese, meats, olive oils, and the like. You will see all manner of people along the embarcadero including skateboarders, roller skaters, joggers and buskers.

But at least its a nice tourist trap. Nice to have a walk around and try some food and buy souvenirs.

This was not my first trip to walk Embarcadero. I get off at the Cal-Train Station (King and 4th) and walk to Fisherman's Wharf. Being able to walk the walk or go on the water front makes it fun.
Always something to see.
The many cafes and restaurants are most enjoyable.
Many helpful 'direction' signs that actually show where you are, as opposed a general area of where you are makes it helpful.
Highly recommended to everyone. Many picture opportunity spots and everyone I met was willing to do my picture in exchange to take theirs.

The walk starts at the Embarcadero BART exit. I then walk past Justin Herman Plaza to the Ferry Building and turn right and walk all the way along the Embarcadero to AT&T Park. Great views of the bay and the Bay Bridge on my left and of the buildings that make up the city's South of Market skyline on my right. After the ball game (and the Giants win, of course) I then walk back to BART.
