My wife & I just spent three nights at the Manor House Inn. The room was lovely - as it should be for well over $200 a night. The hosts were charming and helpful. However the experience was marred by the lady in charge of the breakfast. Each day we left early for hiking in Acadia NP and returned to essentially no breakfast at 9:30. OK I guess the hours are fixed but you might think there could be some accommodation made. To cap it off, on our last morning before driving all day, we arrived at the dining room at 7:00 to be bluntly told the following: "Oh you'll have to have cold cereal. I am still cooking and there is no hot breakfast until 7:30." The eggs had been sitting in a chafing dish since 6:45 but we weren't allowed to touch them - probably just as well... We will not be back.
