We stayed 4 nights at this property. We chose it because of the positive reviews that we read on TA and the relatively reasonable price for the area. Our experience was somewhat different with respect to some issues. The staff, including he owners and housekeeping were friendly and helpful but the negatives are hard for us to get past.
The room had no deadbolt on the door making it relatively easy for an intruder to enter. When we opened the door to our unit, we were met with an aroma similar to what one might find in a gymnasium shower room. It was a sweaty, stale smell. We immediately went to a local grocery store and purchased a container of odor reducer to spray down our very hard mattress and bedding. This helped but did not completely remove the problem. The only heat source in the room was a small electric bathroom type heater, located on a wall next to the entrance door, that we never turned off during our stay. Even with the heater on constantly, our room was chilly in the mornings. Part of this problem could be that the air conditioning unit had gaps between it and the wall that were big enough to allow daylight to enter the room. There was no carpeting anywhere in our room. This can be a plus or a minus. The problem was that we felt that the floor was not clean and our suspicions were proven when we purchased a roll of paper towels and some window cleaner and wiped down the linoleum on the floor . The paper towels were very dirty after cleaning small areas at a time. There was a rocking chair in our room and we were afraid to sit in it because the screws holding on one of the arms were so loose that we were in fear that the arm would fall off and we would be held responsible.
Finally, the property was not as close as we thought that it would be to Bar Harbor. It is about a 10-15 minute drive, each way. Outside of the room, the property was pleasantly landscaped with lots of flowers and green spaces to walk when the weather allows. We liked being able to park at our front door.

Room Tip: Rooms that don't face the highway are probably quieter.

Considering that most everything in Bar Harbor is outrageously priced, this is an affordable option. Close enough to get to the top of Mt. Cadillac for the sunrise... and we spent most of our time in Acadía NATL Park so was fine. Bed was firm but decent.

This is not in Bar Harbor, the town on the coast closer to Acadia but it's close enough. The room was the smallest we'd stayed in on our 10-day New England trip. It was adequate in that the bed and pillows were comfortable, the room was warm and the shower was hot. It took a little bit of puzzling out where to put our gear but we managed fine. It's kind of weird to have the coat hanger over the bed. I hung things up but pushed them as close to the wall as possible so they weren't over my head.

Camille, the manager, was helpful and pleasant. She recommended a good restaurant nearby for dinner and one on the way to Acadia for breakfast.

I'd been warned about bedbugs in New England but I didn't find any at this motel or any other we stayed at. Belle Isle was clean and pleasant, although small.

Super clean and wonderful staff. I wish this had popped up when I was searching TripAdvisor for budget motels but I had to find it through Google. We wanted to spend our money on experiences and food because, really, a hotel room for us when on vacation is just a place to sleep. Our room was plenty big and, yes, you can hear traffic and your neighbors but we turned on the fan in the room AC unit and it provided nice white noise for all of that.

We had read about the fire pit and brought the makings for s'mores which we enjoyed sharing with the other guests, meeting new people and hearing of others' adventures. Really nice people stay here! All in all it was a great experience. We would definitely stay here again.

To be fair these people tried, it had all the amenities you would expect, in some fashion or other. The room was tiny the bathroom tinier, the walls were so thin you could hear next door talking, there was no quality to anything. My test is always would I stay again and I am sorry to say I would not. Had it been cheap as chips that would have been fair dos, but it wasn't, it was not located near Bar Harbor at all as had been suggested.
