We were quite happy with our stay at the Acadia Pines Motel. The value of the room for what we paid was good. Everything was clean. Mattress was a little old, some of the towels had holes, but nothing that was a big deal.

The room had a terrible odor and smelled like it had not been opened in months. The AC didn’t work and the sink didn’t drain. The clerk at the desk was apologetic and moved us to another room. The second room also had a musty order but it was not as bad, the AC and the sink worked. We ended up extending our stay and needed a room. We stayed in Bar Harbor the previous night a short walk from Main Street, in a much nicer hotel and only paid $15 more. Clearly tight demand makes the prices go up. This is a last resort choice.

The room smelled dampness and the ac looked kind of broken. The sink did not drain well too. Luckily we could get a replacement which is similar but marginally better. The only consolation is the room is quite large.

Nice little motel close to downtown bar harbor. The rooms were nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful when asked about restaurants and things to do in the area.
My only issue was that they shouldn't allow smoking right outside their hotel rooms. We had to close our windows because someone was smoking outside. Other places we stayed in Maine don't allow smoking within 25 feet of the building. Perhaps you should consider this too.

The place was not clean. When I opened the refrigerator water brown water came out all over the floor. Some guest left ice cream in it. It has not been cleaned and needed defrosting. I defrosted it. The shower was filled with someones hair. The parking slot for my car was under a pine tree. I left with a lot of pine sap on the car that I had to clean off. The only thing good about this motel is the location.

Room Tip: Don't get a room where you park under the pine trees.
