This must be the most beautiful place to stay in Bar Harbor! We spent four glorious fall days in the Shore Path Cottage and loved every minute of it: Roberta, the owner, is a wonderfully warm host and keeps a most welcoming atmosphere. Our room ("Peter's room," like the other ones named after Roberta's children) has a fabuluous large and comfortable bed, from which we awoke every morning to the sun shine on Frenchman Bay, just steps behind the lush garden, which borders the shorepath. Breakfast was a rich selection of cereal, toast, pancakes, eggs, fruit, and more, taken sitting around a large table with other guests, who all turned out to be very friendly and interesting people. In a quiet, leafy street, the cottage is both pleasantly removed from the hustle and bustle of town, but also just a two-minute walk away from it, and five minutes (by car) to the entrance of Acadia National Park. In short, if you plan on spending a few days in Bar Harbor, you can't do better than this place!
