It's a great beach, just too sandy. Very nice for swimming. Water was so clean and crystal clear. Overall nice experience on Tumon Beach. Recommend travelers to visit anyways.

clear water, sandy beaches. in the heart of guam, you can walk to any resort through the beach. it doesnt get much better than that.

As I stayed at the Reef hotel, my experience is limited to the side of the beach which is connected to it.
White sand and light blue water makes it a nice beach, however the sandy area is half occupied by rental chairs and parasols (which will cost a 30$/day). I did not spend much time on the sand anyway as i am a big fan of snorkeling.
The in-reef area is really shallow (You which makes is relatively difficult to swim between the corals at low tide. This is perfect for kids (Try to make them find some pipefish ;) - as a big kid I love searching them).
For more adventurous people, you'll be heading to the edge of the reef and beyond. The best is to follow the canal used by the jet skis to go out of the reef (but pay attention to them). Suddenly the depth drops to about 4~5m over there you'll find more fish and in higher concentration. Black-tip reef sharks are cruising over there as well (only saw some in the evening though). The edge of the reef is a zone with higher current and wavy so if you are not a good swimmer pay attention before being swept away.

Don't expect soft sand. This is true coral sand, a little gritty. Gorgeous views, clear water. Great for snorkeling or just hanging out in the sun.
