This is the place to stay if you go Maui, Hawai, Great hotel, wonderful beach, great personnel, The rooms are very well clean and spacious with a washer and a dryer in them. Great kitchen also. Very safe place also and just across the street there are food stores and restaurant.

Room Tip: Please and please again...ask for a room with ocean view. If you go to Hawai you need to ask for a...

This last trip was our second time in this hotel. We stayed in a section that was somewhat older than the section we stayed in the first time. I really liked our first time room much better. However, the room we had the second time was still nice. Great view out over the grounds and on to the beach. Even though this hotel is not right in the thick of Kaanapali beach, it still has a very nice beach. Straight out from the pool in the ocean, about 100 feet from shore is an area where about 25 to 30 sea turtles were having their afternoon snooze. My husband and I snorkeled out over them, they were about 30 feet down, and one by one they started to surface. For that experience alone, you can have the more crowded section of the beach. I will gladly take this one. Also, on the first trip there was a man who performed music in the restaurant. His name was George "Keoki" Ruiz. He became our friend. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

This condo/hotel had everything we were looking for. We had a studio apartment which was nice for two of us for the week. It was in great shape and the kitchen was very functional although we didn't cook. All the staff we dealt with were friendly and efficient.
Although the hotel is called Kaanapali Shores it is definitely not on Kaanapali Beach. It's closer to Honokwai. We were hoping to snorkel at Black Rock directly from our hotel but we had to drive to it. If that's important to you I suggest you look at a map and familiarize yourself with the area.
We used Snorkel Bob's, Java Jazz and L&L BBQ in the strip mall across the street which worked out well.

Room Tip: We booked our trip through Panda Online and had no problems. The studios are in a less desrable loca...

We have been visiting Kaanapali Shores for many years, and the quality of the property and the staff have been consistently excellent. Rooms are clean, well-maintained, and comfortable; most rooms have an excellent view in one direction or another, and in the spring if you have an ocean-view room you can sit on the lanai and watch whales blowing, breaching, and slapping tails and fins. Grounds are impeccably groomed and beautifully choreographed. If you love the ocean and the beach, you can't find anyplace more agreeable, anywhere we've been. You can't find Maui accommodations closer to the ocean: you can walk barefoot from your room to the north end of the incredible Kaanapali beach in a minute or two, then have an unimpeded beach walk (or go a few steps inland to the boardwalk) for almost two miles. Staff is cordial and helpful. Pool and spa are crystal-clean and the right temperatures. The feel of the place is family, with lots of kids around. Downsides: the restaurant is ok and convenient, but much of the food is uninspired and you'll get better value elsewhere. And our main complaint is the constant roar of the restaurant chimney, very noticeable from the lanai of some of the inner rooms. But overall, this hotel is, to our taste (and we have stayed in many upscale hotels), preferable to the pricier and stuffier hotels to the south, both in atmosphere and in overall Kaanapali beach experience.

Room Tip: The hotel is an open-U shape, opening toward the water. For morning sun, south-facing rooms (facing...

We rented through Kaanapali Beach rentals; unit 737. The furnishing were very nice and the layout perfect for two couples. We had a view of the ocean and could watch whales from the room. The property was well maintained with two nice pools and hot tubs. There is a strip mall right across the street which made shopping and take out very easy but didn't mar the luxury of the condo grounds. It is an easy drive from Lahaina, Whaler's Village and several excellent beaches. Our only complaint it the nickle dime business center ($.25 a minute to use and print tickets and $.50 to print a boarding pass is just a pain and petty.) We would go back to Kaanapali shores.

Room Tip: Book on an upper floor for whale watching.
