Been to a few luau's in Maui now and this one just isn't worth the price.

The food was bad(overcooked fish, awful desserts).

The server seemed like she just regretted every life decision that brought her to working this job and was impossible to get drinks from. The water jug was never refilled.

The show itself doesn't actually start till after dinner unlike old lahaina and is mostly just a cash grab from the Hyatt (fashion show? Are you kidding me?)
On top of this half the dancers were closer to European than Polynesian.

To top it all off general admission people are treated like second class citizens with how they organize the seating and drinks.

If you want a proper Luau go to Old Lahaina instead. The drinks are better and much more free flowing

We are a family of five with three teenage girls and we went to the Drums of the Pacific Luau on our last day of vacation. The food was varied and delicious. Our server was friendly and fun. The show was amazing, the costumes beautiful and we especially loved the fire dancers! The event was well organized with the dinner buffet and attention to all of the patrons.

My wife and I went to this luau on our honeymoon, 13 years ago. Then, it was only ok and we never expected to return. We just went back to Maui with our 10 year old. Since we were staying at the Hyatt, it was easy for us to return to this luau. We were both very glad we did. The food this time was much better than the first time. It was fresh and flavorful. Remember, this is mainly food common to Polynesia which also means preparation and seasoning may be different from places on the mainland for similar appearing dishes. The VIP seats were worth it. We were close with great views. Watching the skill of the performers from close range allows you to see the focus and concentration as well as fun which they have. We went to the earlier seating, 5:30. It was easy for getting drinks both at the open bar and from our server who was very attentive to all of his tables.

The luau was from 530-830 with a buffet dinner and open bar. The buffet is fine for a buffet but nothing special. The open bar did pour nice drinks and is a nice touch. The dinner takes a long time but that’s because they are serving a lot of people. The best part was from 730-830. That hour of entertainment was fantastic. I think if you are in Hawaii a luau is a must but it’s one and done.

When you are in Hawaii, you have to go to a luau but our teenage sons could have easily done without. The food was average and it was difficult during the performances to get a drink.
