Owner description: Maui Extended Horizons Scuba offers tours and lessons on Maui and Lanai. Established in 1983, we are unique because our instructor/guides have extensive environmental training, we are the only commercial boat on Maui running on 100% biodiesel, We are the only dive shop running on 100% solar, and we helped found and fund the Day Use Mooring Program on Maui which prevents anchor damage and creates and maintains moorings for the State of Hawaii for the public and private sector. And we love diving!

“Great dive trip with Mark for our son’s first ocean dive.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2012

Our son (13) was planning to go out on his first ocean dive since becoming a certified diver so we wanted to go with someone that would give a lot of attention to him and take their time with him. My husband and I have been certified for years. Mark met us on our first morning and immediately made our son very comfortable. He took us to Mala Warf and reviewed the basics with our son. We went out for a 35 minute dive and were able to see lots of fish, coral, sea turtles and two sharks! Our son was so excited so we were very happy! If you are looking for a dive company that will plan the dive around YOUR desires you should definitely call Extended Horizons!

“First Cathedral and Mala Wharf Dives Were Amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2012

Overshadowed in popularity by it's more popular sibling, Second cathedral, what the first cathedral lacks in name recognition it sure makes up for in a great dive. With a cathedral equal to or more beautiful than cathedral two, great fish life and a fun and exhilarating 'shotgun' exit this is a great dive. The Extended Horizons crew, that consisted of Capt. Aaron, DM Mark and DM Jack, were great. All of them were safety orientated and on a mission to ensure everyone had a great day. Even when high seas made it difficult to do a second dive of Lana'i, the backup dive site of Mala Wharf off Maui was fantastic, with crystal clear water, large amounts of fish, frogfish, turtles, sharks and an interesting sunken wharf to explore. These were great dives and I will definitely dive with Extended Horizons again.

“Eco-service with a smile!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 February 2012

Had an amazing dive with extended horizons and from start to finish, everything was handled with friendly professionalism-they definitely take their jobs and your safety seriously, but not themselves!! They are über Eco warriors in their whole operation and take the time to actually show you things and 'debrief' about it later! Going across the rough channel, some people did gt sick, but the staff were extremely attentive! We dove cathedrals 1 and unnamed paradise! A special thank you to Mark, Victoria and Eric for doing such a superb job! Happy diving and hope to dive with you again sooner than later!

“Top-Notch Dive Shop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 February 2012

We had a great time with Extended Horizons. We went on two day dives and a night dive and wished we had signed up for another day on top of that! No complaints about the gear or the boat, and only great things to say about the people who took us out (Victoria, Erik, Mark, and Jack). They were all very knowledgeable and clearly excited to share what they know about the animals and their behaviors. We saw some great stuff out there - whales, dolphins, turtles, even a pair of sting rays.

I particularly like that dive groups are kept small. During the day dives we were in groups of 5 plus the guide, and for the night dive it was just the two of us and Jack. He was very, very helpful, particularly since it was our first time doing a night dive. Thanks!

When I come back to Maui I will definitely go out with them again. Highly recommended.

“Best dives ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 January 2012

I have only been diving for 4 years. I went on three dive trips while on Maui. This was by far the better of the three. In fact, this was the best ever as far as dive sites and crew. The Captain, Aaron with Victoria and Mark were knowledgeable and friendly. They are unique in that they don't expect every diver to be a pro. I am not a pro and most likely never will. I appreciate their attitude, patience and taking the time above and below the water to discuss what we are seeing. They each have white boards during the dive to write what we are seeing. They also played charades with all of the signs for the animals we might before the dive. Dive left at 6:30 am and returned at about noon. The first dive was Wash Rock. No disappointment here! There was plenty to see here. Second dive was Cathedral 2. When given a choice by the crew, as a group we decided on Cathedral 2 over Cathedral 1 only because a couple of divers already dove 1. I appreciate the choice and all of the extra attention they provided. They don't have to, but they do. When I return to Maui, I will definitely be looking up EH for more diving!
p.s. The boat has a head (bathroom)
