Cute small hotel with big personality. Location is amazing-ocean view from our lanai. Hotel staff are wonderful! Alex, the resident parrot, has a great personality. Perfect location, adjacent to the harbor for snorkeling, whale watching trips, etc. cute courtyard for enjoying your morning coffee and nice pool area for relaxing time. Will definitely go back!

Loved this place! The staff was warm & welcoming, the hotel was quaint & felt more like a family inn than a hotel. Beautiful pool/courtyard area. Location great. Loved the rocking chairs on the balcony from our room. Would definitely stay again!
Well maintained historic hotel right in the middle of Lahaina featured smallish rooms (the way they were in earlier times) that were clean and well air-conditioned. Balconies either faced the courtyard or had a streetview. Attached restaurant breakfast was very good and the staff eager to please. Samantha was especially helpful. Only drawback to the place is that there is no elevator for second floor rooms, so hauling heavy bags up the stairs was a bit of a challenge.
This was our 5th trip to Maui, but our first stay at the Historic Pioneer Inn. The hotel is a quaint step back to old Hawaii, with balconies and rocking chairs overlooking the Banyan Court.
HOWEVER, there was no one at the front desk when we wanted to check in, resulting in a 20 minute wait. No elevator (historic building), so we dragged heavy luggage up the wooden stairs. The hotel is adjacent to several open air bars and restaurants. Visitors were having a lot of LOUD fun until past 1:00A.M. Maui time. (5 hour time difference for us.) Glad that we only booked a 1 night stay after a long tiring day of travel.
Just returned from seven days in Maui and am missing every bit of it. As a solo traveler, I found the Pioneer Inn to be perfect for my needs. The ability to walk to stores and restaurants was a plus. I ate at a different place every night! I rented a car for four days and there is convenient parking across the street from the hotel that is free. The ferry to Lanai is right in front of the hotel along with multiple boats departing on excursions. Baby beach is about a 15 minute walk and Kaanapili beach is a about a 10-15 minute Lyft ride. The staff was super friendly and always helpful! I would say the only drawback is the rooms are a little outdated and small but if you aren't spending time in the room then that shouldn't matter. Note, that if you are light sleeper, the ac units in the room are on the loud side. The toiletries are scant so be advised you will have to hit up the Safeway or Food Lion for shampoo, conditioner, etc. With all that said, I would stay at the Best Western again. Hoping to get back to Maui sooner rather than later.
Can’t complain every body was very nice and friendly love the little town Lahaina live the hotel location close to restaurants and shopping area as well the church, I will recommend it to go? My only suggestion will be to have an elevator for elders can’t walk upstairs but overall experience was very good
