Condos reflect when the were constructed and Maui Hill though well maintained exhibits a dated appearance. Our one bedroom unit had an enormous sunken living room with about one third of it completely empty. The full kitchen, though well equipped was tiny, cramped, and dark as the only natural light was from a jalousie door whose vanes had to be closed when the ac was on. The fact that we had exceptionally warm, humid weather kept us from enjoying opening the doors and contributed to feeling closed in.
The closest three beach parks require driving or a long walk down the hill or a long steep flight of stairs. Walking anywhere off the resort is difficult as there are no sidewalks and the stores, beach parks and restaurants are very spread out. The staff except for one unpleasant desk person were friendly and helpful and the concierge, Donya, made our stay more enjoyable. We could only see a tiny sliver of the ocean so we probably will try a resort closer to the water on our next trip.More
