We had a group of 15, ranging from age 2 to 60 for our one week extended family stay. The Wailea Inn is located a half block from the beach and park in Kihei. This is a great place for family or group to stay. It was pretty expensive and I do think you can find places for much less but definitely not more beautiful or in a better location. The property Manager Chelsea was excellent every step of the way and always available to answer questions and provide information. Matt form Maui Activity Concierge also reached out to us to provide information, arrange activities, and anything else we might need. We did use this service to order flowers for an anniversary. There were plenty of restaurants, grocery, and shopping nearby.
Cons: Only one TV in the entire 6 room penthouse. The location of the tv did not allow for a stable internet connection, so you could not use the features of the smart TV. (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon etc) There was blue ray player and we did rent Red Box movies for evenings. The internet was really only accessible from a few points in the house, otherwise it was spotty at best. The jacuzzi spa did not work for the most part for our entire stay. They did have a repair person come out, but it required more work than could be completed during our stay. The patio chairs off the living room were very worn and almost unusable. Even tho these things may sound bad, none of this took away from any part of our outstanding stay.
Pros: All of the rooms were very nicely done even the two upstairs loft area rooms. AC remote, flashlight in each room. The view from the loft balcony was incredible. The master shared a view balcony with the living room. 3 of the rooms had direct access to the pool which was so convenient and a made using the pool very accessible. Kitchen was well stocked and modern. Plenty of seating for everyone and they also had extra tables and chairs in the closet just in case. They provided two baby high chairs and a pack n play for the kids. There were beach toys, chairs, boogie boards etc for our use. The house has a receiver and sound system so you can play your music throughout the house. The pool area was the hit of our trip. More time was spent by the pool just playing relaxing and having fun than I thought would happen. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and not ever feel cramped. There were BBQ grills both on the pool deck and on the patio outside the dining area. The Wailea Inn delivered as promised, a great vacation for our group.
Stayed for 9 days with 30 family members from CA, CO, AZ, WA to celebrate Mom's (GG great grandma) 90th birthday. We rented all units and it worked fantastic, especially for the families with babies and a toddler.
Each unit was nicely decorated and included a fully furnished kitchen. Each room had it's own air conditioner, the bedrooms were big and comfortable beds.
The home was located between the Cove Park and Charlie Young beach, however we found the smaller private beach accessed directly across street amazing.
The sales manager, Chelsea, and the Concierge provided outstanding service.
Looking forward to GG's 95th!!
We rented the Leilei Penthouse and Ohana Hale for the last week of June. It was amazing and Chelsea was very helpful. The pictures do the reality justice. There were 11 of us, half of whom were teens - so we needed lots of space. each room has a newly remodeled bathroom and is spacious and airy. Just be mindful that the two loft rooms upstairs in the penthouse are open to the living room and kitchen (respectively) below. though my nephew was upstairs and didn't seem to mind.Lots of beach toys - and there is a small secluded beach literally right across the beach. And the surfing beach is just one rock outcropping over. the big beach (with turtles) is half a block away. It is walking distance to shops and restaurants. It's very nice to be in Kihei, which has more of a family feel, than in the true resort hotel areas.
Our stay at the LeLe penthouse of the Wailea Inn was what Hawaiian vacations are meant to be. We were 15 in our group including 6 kids. The penthouse was huge with 4 bedrooms (all with bathrooms) and a large lovely loft area (with bathroom) for sleeping and visiting. The kitchen was fully equipped. Only steps away to beautiful Charley Young beach. Terrific pool area with a free standing hot tub. Manager Chelsea was fantastic...so sweet and accommodating and concierge Matthew was so helpful in planning our stay. Our every need was met with a smile. Wish we were there right now.
