So glad we decided to spend a few nights in Hana after traveling The Road, but especially glad we found this little sliver of Paradise! The grounds are so well maintained—4 koi ponds, 2waterfalls, gardens with gorgeous native flowers and plants. We were in Rm 2, which is on the 2nd floor of the building closest to the ocean. It was just perfect for us. It’s a studio and, even though there were places to sit in the room (and a little table with 2 chairs, too), we spent almost every minute there sitting outside on the lanai. I believe there are only 3 rooms on the 2nd floor and we were in the middle. The units on each side have lanais on the end, so there were no other lanais next to ours. We had a 180-degree view of the ocean. Inside, Rm. 2 is so cute: the walls are covered with natural woven mat that looks so authentically Hawaiian. Kitchen had a stove, oven, microwave, and two mini-fridges and of course plates, utensils, glasses, etc. It was hot and humid while we were there, but the cross-ventilation, ceiling fan, and a fan on a stand all gave us comfortable nights’ sleep. After Hana we spent a week in Lahaina. In retrospect, my husband and I agree that we wish we would have spent 2 days in Lahaina and a week in Hana. We loved the quiet and peacefulness at Hana Kai, sleeping to the sound of the ocean waves breaking, and waking up to gorgeous sunrises.
