This was my 5th stay at The Lodge in less for 4 years, so I suppose that speaks to my feelings about this delightful property. We have stayed in a variety of rooms, from a garden deluxe to a very spacious one bedroom firplace suite and I must say there isn't a room I wouldn't stay in again.
I do have a word of caution for some. This island may not serve the needs of one looking for a traditional tropical beach vacation or one that requires many diverse dining options. If, however, you are looking for a peaceful, beautiful environment with no traffic worries and the lovely option of spending time on a beach where there is always an available lounger or strolling in an elegantly landscaped upcountry property you may find a place, as we have, that you look forward to returning to year after year.
Interestingly, our 11 yo son prefers Lanai to Maui. During our stays here we choose one activity to share during our stay, days at the beach bodysurfing, notwithstanding. He has taken an archery class, traveled to the other side of the island for a surfing lesson (we saw humpback whales from the beach), horseback riding and finally this trip he spent some time shooting clays.More
