Description: Plantation Gardens Restaurant & Bar is located in a beautifully restored plantation manor on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. Dating back to the 1930's, the estate once served as the plantation manager's home for Hawaii's first sugar plantation, the Koloa plantation. Later, the estate was acquired by the Moir Family who built the world famous gardens that surround the restaurant. Our menu reflects the heritage of old plantation Hawaii, which celebrates the abundance and beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. Our fresh fish is caught daily by local fishermen in waters off Kauai. We use organically grown vegetables and herbs picked fresh on nearby farms and from our own gardens. Guests may choose to dine on our lanai overlooking tranquil gardens, lily ponds and tropical foliage or in our exquisitely refurbished dining room which features gorgeous Brazilian cherry wood floors, woven bamboo tables and plantation ceiling fans.

The Plantation Restaurant at Kiahuna Plantation is a dining oasis . The seating is just off the Moir Garden with the view of tropical plants and huge cacti, with the bubbling of the koi pond in the background. The food is excellent. Fresh ocean fish is prepared in traditional and unusual ways with local vegetables. Quiet, gentle breezes, perfect!

I would go back again.
After a disappointing experience at the Beach House, we were quite happy with the value and quality of their seafood and recommend this place

The food is an interesting Asian twist on American fare, but not sure if it works well. Above average at best.

Great Atmosphere and great food. Don't miss! The service was probably the worst we ever had, but don't let that distract you if you are a foodie. It was also a short distance from our hotel which was inviting.

We were told that they could slip us in no later than 7:15. We were seated at a table adjacent to the bar; one of about 8 tables were seated. The bar area must have been all hard surfaces. The raucous male voices from a wedding party sprinked with 4-letter words sounded like they were being broadcast over a loud-speaker. This was irritating to me as an adult, and inappropriate for our 11-year-old.

I need gluten free-food. I was surprised when they said there were no appetizers that could be prepared gluten-free, even though one menu item that they said was not gluten-free featured "gluten-free tamarind ponzu sauce."

My meal was the "grilled fresh fish with baby bok choy, maui onion, red curry sauce, and cucumber namasu" for $24.90. It included two baby bok choy leaves, really, a piece of onion the size of a match stick, and a few slivers of cucumber and carrots. It was presented on a large rectangular plate, covered in a puddle of red curry sauce, with only about a quarter of the plate taken up by the piece of fish and minimal vegetables. My husband liked the seafood lau lau. The children's baby back rib plate came with 3 small ribs.

Service was mediocre throughout. It took 10 minutes for the server to take the drink order, then another 10 to get the drinks. The server poured water from a bottle that he left on the table, but he did not refill the bottle (or our glasses) when they were empty. I was most shocked at the end of the meal when the person who cleared our plates swiped the silverware into the middle of the plate with a crash. I've never experienced that in any restaurant, especially not one that purports to provide fine dining. We decided to get ice cream from the market and skip dessert.
