“Beautiful Experience”

This is a beautiful resort! Friendly service and comfortable atmosphere. Close to local shopping and dining. The pool, food, and beach were so good here!

Brought the family for a week of Relaxation an booked a ocean view room to go along with a ocean front room timeshare. The purchased room (~$400 / night) was billed as a 2 room, 2 bath unit. The room had only one bath and the ocean view did exist if you went onto the balcony and leaned out over the rail lookin to the right as far as you could. Otherwise the view was the green roof of the lobby and the adjacent tower across the courtyard. When I called the lobby to see if there was a mistake I was told this room is "billed" as ocean view. Not that it had an ocean view, it was billed as. I asked to be moved and was informed the entire place was sold out. This is a huge place! They told me I could be put on a waitlist for the next day which I agreed to. Before 7:30 the next am, the message light on the phone was on & a message was left (they didn't try to call) telling me nothing was available. I called and try to reason with them to no avail, it wasn't their concern I was disappointed in my view. I offered to upgrade and suddenly they were willing to consider being somewhat accommodating (what happened to sold out?). Later that day they called with a ocean front room for an additional $75/night & needed an instant answer. I was in town but wanted to know exactly where the room was (I didn't want a view of tree trunks with the ocean viewable while standing in a chair) but they couldn't wait. long story short, beautiful place but the management is only concerned with revenue, not customer satisfaction.

You will feel like a member of the royal family in this hotel. We loved the immense pool surrounded by hot-tubs. One of the best beaches on the island is just 100 yards away from the pool. You will love it!!!

Room Tip: Get a room on a high floor to enjoy the spectacular view of the grounds, the mountains, and the ocea...

our travel agent booked us into this hotel and got us a great deal ($300 per night with breakfast and all taxes included which is cheap for Hawaii) - hotel has a lovely setting on a nice beach but it's adjoined by an industrial area. You can't really see the industry from the hotel due to one of their buildings blocking that side of the property's views but it does affect the property. When we checked in, we discovered by talking to some locals (and NOT from the hotel on arrival) that the beach was closed due to a sewage spill from the adjacent ttreatment plant - NOT COOL. I realize they can't control that. but they needed to tell us. we had also asked to be upgraded and got a "oceanfront"room - however, the room they gave us looked down on top of two buildings which was ugly and out to the beach from there. The bathroom vanity was also ridiculous - no storage or counter space. We immediately got a reservation luckily at another property on the island albeit for more money. Also this is the rainy side of Kauai - we moved to the south side in Poipu where it was mostly sunny our whole stay. this would be a safe beach for kids and weaker swimmers, though - it's protected by a barrier wall - you could NOt have swum in the ocean while we were in Poipu due to strong winds and currents that week - the water at this place was calm, although polluted for the meantime. Hopefully that is unusual.

Room Tip: garden view rooms seem OK, roosters roam the property - the breakfast buffet is good

Room Tip: Try to stay on the hotel side and not on club side.
