We love the friendly staff and overall atmosphere of the resort. It maybe be a little old fashioned but we love that fact. It is a hidden gem. Where else can you go and get fruit pie, muffins, fresh fruit and coffee free included when the room prices are so reasonable. Was very surprised to see such a nice welcoming package in our room. And the room has air conditioning.

Aloha, thank you for choosing to stay with us! We adore our staff, all of us working together like a family to care for our guests and the hotel. We think of things which we would appreciate as a guest and then try implementing new amenities. The health bars, filtered water, fresh ground coffee, tropical pumpkin pie, and bananas from our trees are welcome gifts we enjoy giving.
Thank you for commenting on value, costs of goods and services continues to increase, we are committed to making guest service and quality lodging more important than hotel profit. Thank you for booking direct, as you will get the rooms which are best suited to your needs.
Mahalo, thank you for the review and 5star recommendation! Lis & Steve Layne

This place is a real gem! Close enough to the airport it's a great place if you get in later in the day/night. But it's also far enough away you don't hear/see any air traffic. The beach is right across the road and you can hear the waves as much as you like. The hotel itself is very nice , the colors and layout are great. The waterfall on the back side it like a secret oasis. 100% will stay here again when we for sure go back to Kauai !!

Room Tip: ALL rooms seemed to have a great view

Mahalo! "This place is a GEM" Thank you for your wonderful comments. It is great to get feedback from our guests. The island seems to pull artistic touches from us to enhance the ambiance of the hotel. Waterfall, island art, gardens, tropical paint and evening lights, surfboards, and a banana patch, koi ponds, are fun enhancements for guests to enjoy. We look forward to your return, be sure to book your favorite room direct with the hotel. Aloha, Lis & Steve Layne

For the price, you cannot beat the service, view, and home-style amenities. They really make you feel comfortable and welcome. No, it's not the Ritz, but for the more casual traveler, it's perfect. Come pick a tangelo from the tree out front for yourself!!

Thank you so much for your review! One of the attributes I am most proud of is our value given to our guests. Our always reasonable prices do not change according to how busy we are. Many hotels and airlines raise prices as the supply of rooms and seats lowers. The affordable room rates coupled with the free amenities, no resort fees, free parking and our great location all adds up to great value.
We think of our guests as VIPs. The staff is simply incredible. We all pull together to insure every guest's comfort and needs are handled with care and aloha. Please enjoy the tangelos with us again soon. Mahalo, Lis & Steve Layne

The staff here were top notch. I cannot speak highly enough of them. They were keen to help and advise in any way possible and just generally lovely people. Staff and customer service like this can make the entire hotel experience. Although this hotel does not provide breakfast, they do provide fruit, snacks (mostly small bakery items), some muesli bars, coffee, tea etc from 7am until 10am. This was great. I was particularly pleased to discover a sweet potato pie provided on a couple of mornings. Absolutely delicious. The room was comfortable with a modern tv with all channels, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and space for a small table and chairs. It is a slightly dated room, but the original art and painting on the walls is a nice touch. The balcony was beautiful, and I had a lovely view of the ocean and the gardens. It is slightly noisy there due to being alongside a fairly busy road. Shampoo and conditioner are provided in one of those dispenser things, which is not something I like, so I used my own. Small negative, but the key to the room comes with a giant key ring. This can be kind of inconvenient to carry around, especially if you are not taking a bag with you and just want to use a pocket. Hotel gardens and water features are beautiful and relaxing adding to that holiday feel. Hotel provides DVD's, beach towels and numerous other offerings for no fee, if desired. Definitely recommend and definitely would stay again.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have a lovely balcony views

A+ thank you for such a good rating. Our staff is amazing we all work together to provide excellent customer service. Tropical sweet potato pie along with fresh ground coffee and fresh fruit is a good start to any day! So glad you enjoyed the morning goodies.
I have not gotten any freed back on our big orange float key chains, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I generally carry a bag with my phone, a towel, key and money. You are welcome to leave the room key with the front desk.
Our greatest compliment are your referrals and repeat visits, again thank you so much. Aloha, Lis & Steve Layne

Great area for shops and restaurants. Good location for traveling to other parts of the island and airport. Fresh fruit from trees on the premises. Beach towels, bug spray, information books all available to use.
