“Outstanding!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2012

Exotically beautiful and serenely quiet, this hillside haven has so many comforts, inside and out, that it was tempting to spend the days there. But there is a most healthful and delicious breakfast, and a garage full of beach and recreational equipment, to fuel you and keep you going all day. The owners extend the true Hawaiian spirit of hospitality and aloha -- so very many endearing things here -- this is THE place to love and long to return to, time after time.

We very much enjoyed our 6 night stay. Gary and Luanne were the hosts for the first 2 days and were very hospitable and welcoming and had good suggestions for hikes and sights. We then had host Mike who was great and there for whatever we needed and man he makes a GREAT breakfast! The fresh juiced organic fruits and smoothies were reason to go back in themselves! Loved the French toast! There was abundant coffee, a good variety of fresh made fruit salad, yogurt, breads and cheese etc to help yourself to.
The room was pleasant and comfortable if maybe a little outdated. The kitchenette was adequate although the fridge was very small and couldn’t hold much if you wanted to refrigerate leftovers or keep water cold etc. The deck is huge and the “valley view” was gorgeous. Came back to fresh tropical flowers in our room which was very nice. We really appreciated the supply of beach towels, beach mats, and the “good” boogie boards. Marjories is in a very peaceful, rural feeling and quiet area close to the town and beaches. We definitely recommend Marjories!

After many years of resorts, we decided this year to use a B&B for our stay from Feb. 13-20, 2012 and we were not disappointed with Marjories! The "Welcome Tray" was an appreciated touch after long hours of travel. The view from the lanai is breathtaking and expansive! Guest hosts, Gary and Luanne, were the ideal hosts ( quiet, generous and informative). As stated before, breakfasts were delicious and had enough variety to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. The fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juice along with something new off the stove every day along with the breads, croissants and cereals were enough to satisfy well into the day. We appreciated all the beach gear that was available for our use, including a cooler and ice packs, as well as the advice on what not to miss while on Kauai. The kitchenette in the room was an added bonus as was the fantastic lap pool. A BBQ is available upon request, but eating out or cooking in costs about the same, so we decided to eat out. Since we were going on to the Big Island for a week, we also were glad that laundry facilities were available for our use. It is true that it can be a tricky place to find in the dark, even with the directions given, as the road signage is on a slant and is not totally reflective and the mailbox is black and up against a hedge. A word of advice: BOOK EARLY. We had wanted the Valleyview Room, but even though we booked in Oct. were not able to get it. Our stay was in the Tradewind Room (the smallest of the three) but quite adequate as we were out and about every day. A wonderful stay!

We stayed at Marjorie's Kauai Inn for five nights during our recent three-island vacation. To say that the Inn met our expectations wouldn't be correct, as it far exceeded them! The place itself is comfortable, clean, and set in a scenic vista. We saw the most spectacular sunsets from our lanai. I woke up one night at 3:00 a.m. and saw a full moon as I've never seen one before. What a memory! In addition to feeling right at home, our stay at Marjorie's Kauai Inn included amenities that helped us further enjoy our stay on the island. We had access to beach chairs, a cooler and beach towels -- those things you wished you had been able to bring with you but for obvious reasons, found impractical. Our "guest hosts," Gary and Luanne, were fabulous. Gary cooked awesome breakfasts, (the fresh fruit and fresh-squeezed juices were super!) and both Gary and Luanne shared with us some out-of-the-way trails, beaches and activities that we hadn't experienced on our previous visits to Kauai. On our first day, Gary gave us a business card and told us to "call if we had any questions," no matter where we were on the island. They're attention to detail made our visit special and unforgettable. Thank you for the great place, and for the wonderful memories!

Room Tip: You won't be disappointed with any of the rooms. All have great views. The biggest difference is...

We recently spent three nights on Kauai and chose to stay at Marjorie's Kauai Inn. The 'guest hosts', Gary and LuAnne, were filling in for Alexis and Mike and did a first rate job. The breakfasts were tasty and generous - and different each day - and the hosts provided excellent advice on local beaches, restaurants, shops and sites to visit. The Valley View room was excellent - plenty of space, clean and comfortable, with fruit, beverages and banana bread for us when we arrived. The lanai was spacious and we could sit out in the evening and enjoy the sunsets. We were able to relax, visit the Waimea Canyon, Allerton Gardens, north shore and other sites easily from this location near Koloa Town/Poipu Beach. All in all, a fine experience - we were very satisfied with our stay here.

Room Tip: There are three rooms here but we only saw the Valley View room. Images on their web site accuratel...
