My wife was able to get us three nights here free with her points and upon arrival we were automatically upgraded to an ocean view room. So right away we were really happy. The staff here were incredibly helpful and happy from the bellman to the front desk people to the bar staff by the pool.

You could tell that the lobby, restaurant/bar, and pool area had been recently updated. Very well done and clearly money well spent. Also, the rooms were spacious and nice. Our only complaint was that our king bed was very uncomfortable. They tried to accommodate us by putting and egg crate pad under the mattress pad but it still wasn't great. My other ding was that the bathroom was an odd configuration as the toilet was right in the middle of the room and if someone was sitting on it you couldn't close the door. The bathroom amenities were fine, but the configuration was strange. So for the bed/bath issues I can't give this hotel a 5. Don't get me wrong this isn't a 5 star hotel. But for an inexpensive chain on the island's east side this place is great for the price!

The pool and beach area is very nice. The daily 4-7 happy hour is nice too. $4 dollar drafts and mai tais was a nice way to start an evening and considerably less then most places on the island.

I can't comment on the food because we never ate at their restaurants. We were too busy exploring the sites outside!

We would stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone needing a place to stay for a few nights while staying in Kauai

Room Tip: The resort corridors can seem long so if you aren't excited about long walks to your room reques...

Hands down this has been the best stay in a hotel ever for me! and what made it so are the amazing staff at this hotel! I stayed at the hotel 10 days and they made me feel at home! the took the time to know me and made sure i was having a wonderful time, I also did a a lot of solo hiking and they were always aware and were happy to see me return and welcomed me with wonderful warm smiles.
the property it self is wonderful, everything is brad new, it is centrally located in the island so driving each way takes an hour at you would hit the end of the highway! I took advantage of the hammocks positioned under the coconut trees and they were what i needed after 2 days of hiking!
the food is good although the menu could have some more choice! however Kapaa has tons of places to eat so it wasn't a big deal!

I will recommend this place to all my friends and I will be back sooner than later!

thanks again guys :D

This was our first time to Kauai so we were not really sure about the best area to stay. A work friend suggested this area because it was in a central location. We stayed in an Ocean Front room that was perfect for us. It was quite a large corner shaped room that had a small balcony that looked directly onto the beach and grass lands next to the hotel. It was quiet, clean, and comfortable. Grounds were lovely, restaurant had a limited but nice menu, and the restaurant staff were very friendly. Only down side was a pretty small bathroom, but for us this was a very minor thing.
Useful info for people considering a stay; you need a car (with a GPS), get over the $14 parking fee, try the rib eye at the restaurant, book your activities through Yuki at the activity desk, enjoy a drink at sunset beside the fire at the pool.

Room Tip: We liked our ocean front room, not only because of the view to the ocean but of the grass lands. We...

Our travel agent picked this property for us and we enjoyed our three nights there. We drove past it at first because there was no real sign on the highway indicatiing the hotel was off the road. I see absolutely no reason to pay for parking on site. There is much more parking than needed and it is just one more way of Hawaiian businesses making a buck off tourists. We enjoye sleeping with the balcony door open and not needing air conditioning. We found the beach disaapointing because of the reef that parallets the beach and the tr ade wind howls in off the ocean at that site. Cool pool area, particularly at night where they have a warming area with propane flames which line a seating area. The room was quiet and comfortable and we found no reason to upgrade to have a partial view of the ocean.

Room Tip: All rooms should be fine unless you require an ocean view which is not needed because during the day...
