The view of the valley is spectacular set with the backdrop of the magnificent Namolokama Mountain. The gorgeous shades of green vary due to sunlight and the time of day. The beautiful blue Hanalei River is in the middle of it all. This fabulous, fertile valley has been planted for centuries in taro by Native Hawaiians. The fields look like a green patchwork quilt. This view is used on many postcards. Unfortunately, since we have returned from Hawaii there has been a catastrophic flood in Hanalei Valley, and it may have not been enough time to repair it. Check with a Hawaiian travel agent. We definitely recommend seeing this view when it is ready to see again.
