“Vast view, warm hosts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 February 2012

Do not hesitate to book a stay at Waipio Rim B&B . Photos can only hint at the awesome view, unparalleled anywhere. Previous reviewers are absolutely right about the warmth of the hosts, Nancy and Steve, the comforts and attractiveness of the hideaway treetop room and deck, and the sumptuous breakfasts. One night is not enough-- stay three, four or a week to truly unwind and enjoy all that the magnificent setting and environs have to offer, including a gorgeous wide black sand beach where horses roam free, a valley where taro is still farmed, and hikes along the ancient King's Trail, up the cliff face, and back to a magnificent thousand foot fall of water. Go!

My fiance and I stayed here in May of 2011. It was amazing. I highly recommend checking out Waipio Valley and staying at Waipio Rim!

My wife and I spent a week on the Big Island, and we spent the last two nights at Waipio Rim. All of the previous reviews are accurate: this place is wonderful. Steve and Nancy are so nice and helpful, and the location is so perfect it should be criminal. Incredible breakfasts. Whale viewing from your room. Fantastic smoothies after a day of hiking (pro tip: if you happen to be carrying around some coconut rum, it mixes well). The Valley is lovely and the beach is off the charts. We were there on a Saturday and you could count the visitors on two hands. And when we hiked to the waterfall that Steve told us about, we had it to ourselves. This is one of the few B&B's that warrants a special trip, even if it's not on the original itinerary (it wasn't on ours). We'll be back as soon as we can!

If you are looking to get away from it all, this is the place. Everything is perfect; Nancy and Steve go out of their way to make your stay magical. Waipio Valley is amazing; the beach below the most beautiful I have ever seen. This is the place if you are looking to enjoy Hawaii's beauty without a lot of people. And Nancy's breakfasts are to die for!!!
