We went for dinner and were initially disappointed that the menu seemed somewhat limited and didn't offer as many vegetarian choices as the lunch menu, but our waiter Anthony took it all in stride and with a pleasant demeanor and always friendly but genuine smile, said they would love to satisfy us and gave a number of off-menu suggestions they would be happy to fix. He had such a calm, welcoming attitude... he made us feel right at home and in the company of good friends.
While waiting for our main courses (since this was dinner), Anthony served a complimentary fresh salad over which he sprinkled freshly ground black pepper and grated romano cheese, as well as steaming hot bread fresh from the oven -- delicious! When we finished our first basket of bread, he happily brought a second. The main courses were delicious, over which he happily sprinkled fresh pepper and cheese. The eggplant parmigiana was tasty and came with generous helpings of marinara sauce, as well as a side-dish of pasta. The pasta alfredo was rich, creamy and very satisfying. We had been quite hungry before, but there was no room for dessert!
All in all, we had a first class experience, In fact, this was our best and most memorable meal of our entire 3 weeks on the Big Island. Anthony, a 7th generation Hawaiian, is absolutely one of the best waiters we have ever encountered -- always so friendly, happy and willing to please. We would be happy to go again just to be served by Anthony, but of course the food is also first class. A truly great dining experience.
