We ate at the the Manago Hotel & Restaurant on the recommendation of a guidebook. The surroundings inside definitely throw you back to another era. The restaurant is very simple and clean.
The side dishes were served first: Japanese noodles, rice, bean sprouts and mac/potato salad. All of which were very tasty. For the entree, we ordered the pork chops with gravy and onions (very fatty), and the fish which was a bit dry.
Many people have reccomended this restaurant, but maybe we hit it on an off night for the chef. Or maybe our palates are not accustomed heavier fare. Prices are very reasonable, and the staff are extremely friendly and gave excellent service!
