We have stayed here twice and both times were happy. I love the rooms, they are always clean. I really like that there is no carpet, just wood. Being able to use the water/amusement parks each day is awesome!!

The only complaint I have is that the parks close so early. The water parks close at 7pm and the amusement parks at 9pm. They should stay open later.

Stayed at Mt. Olympus resort – Hotel Rome.
Overall, well worth the price –we paid $200 a night for 6 people. This includes a room with 2 queens and a bunk bed.
The good – the “Roman” bunk bed is awesome, never saw one like it, the kids loved it. The room has a wood floor (not carpet) which I liked. The kids liked the “Roman” décor. The facilities are very nice and well kept and everyone is very nice. We asked for extra towels and they were promptly delivered. The water park and amusement park are included for all days of your stay, including the day you leave – imagine how much that would cost for 6 people. The water parks have attractions for all ages and the new water park is great. The upper (old) water park was practically deserted and is great for families with young kids. On one of the day when it was too cold, we went to the indoor water park – awesome as well and they sure pack a lot in a small area. The outdoor amusement park was a hit with the kids. We are not real roller coaster fans (although there are 4 coasters of differing levels), but there 6 different track of go karts and the kids (6 and 9) enjoyed making their way from the most simple to the bigger ones. My 9 year old just squeaked by the height limit and got to drive himself. We must have driven through the Trojan horse 10 times! Since it was early June there were no long lines for any attractions. On the last day, there were many school kids on daytrips and the experience was much different (long lines, teenagers pushing in lines and driving irresponsibly), but at around 3PM, they had to leave to go back to school and the lines were back to normal. Much appreciated is the fact that they have 2 sets of go-karts per track which means that while one group is racing, the next group can already get situated and ready to go, with very little down time for the track. Most of the workers in the parks are immigrants and speak little English but they do a great job.

The bad
The room is very minimal. The towels are thin, there is no closet, no safe, and the drawers are basically open shelves. Very basic toiletries, not even cups for your toothbrush and a very basic coffee maker. There is a microwave and a minifridge. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything said in the next room. I would think that in a hotel with so much water parks, there would be some drying rack for bathing suits and towels. There is none, not even the stringy thing in the shower I’ve seen in most hotels. Overall, we spent very little time in the room – we came home at night exhausted, showered and went to sleep, woke up the next day and left for a day out, so the room was not a big deal.

Other hotels have waterparks but no one has such extensive amusement park facilities.
One additional comment – the other “MT. Olympus” properties are basically motels around “Rome” that were bought by Mt. Olympus and painted uniformly in blue.

My family and I just returned from vacation at the Dells. We started out at the Mt. Olympus Hotel Rome. Our room slept 6, but we never had towels for 6. Daily we had to ask for towels and they don't have any hand towels. The room floor was tile and it was never swept. The hallway carpet was very dirty. The pool area sidewalk was covered in bird poop, and the pool area was also very dirty. Leaves in all the pools covering the pool drains. Our bathroom was never cleaned during the 3 days that we stayed there. The toilet was not wiped off either. Our last day there, housekeeping came to our room and asked if we needed service and we said yes. I had just finished in the bathroom, so we left so they could clean. Upon returning to our room we found that ONE OF THE HOUSEKEEPING EMPLOYEES USED OUR BATHROOM AND URINATED ALL OVER THE TOILET AND LEFT IT!!! So, we left. We highly recommend The Wilderness Lodge tho. They are much cheaper, cleaner, and has 6 waterparks.

Room Tip: Don't stay at Mt. Olympus

I stayed during the week after Memorial Day at the Hotel Rome with one adult, two 20 year old boys and 3 girls 9 and under on a Wednesday night. The room was a double queen with bunk bed so plenty of beds. The main problem I had with the room was absolutely no furniture besides the bed, a small table with the TV (and only room for the TV) and a very small corner table. There was ample floor room for our suitcase and bags which I hated. I did talk to another family and they said their room did have a dresser type to put their bag on. I did not get a chance to eat at the hotel.

We did eat at the waterpark/theme park which was all fast food. Kids loved the dippin dots. I think the reason I would not return was we had just spent three nights in a two bedroom (two bath) unit at Glacier Canyon which was beautiful. I wanted to give Hotel Rome a chance again as it has been about five years since I stayed there. If you stay here, I would not recommend more than one or two nights (for the use of the theme park).
