We stayed here 2 years ago when we went to Road america to see June Sprints. Very nice motel, clean rooms, helpful staff (Alyssa was Awesome!!), very lighted parking lot in safe area close to downtown area where we walked to get a drink after a long day at the track.

Room tip: First level you can see the parking lot better than the upper level

We just returned from a weeklong stay at Fountain Park Motel and already are looking forward to our next visit. We always stay there when in Sheboygan, and this was our first time during wintry weather (although it was April!) and the room and office staff and restaurant kept us warm and happy. We truly love it there and recommend Fountain Park to anyone wanting quiet, comfortable, friendly accommodations locally owned and staffed.

I was born in raised in Sheboygan. I am 57 years old now and have been living in Georgia for the last 18 years. I am back this weekend visiting family but decided to stay in a hotel. Well at least I thought I wanted to stay in a hotel. I checked in on Friday night and paid $63. When I walked in the little office, they quoted me $67. For the nite but I told them that Yelp had it listed for $63, and they gladly honored it. It was about 9 PM and off I went to visit family. Well I hadn’t seen my sister in a while so we ended up talking all night, and I never got back to the motel. LOL. I called about 1030 the next morning and explained my situation and did a phone check out. They said that they would see what they could do because I had not even touched the room, about giving me my money back. Well as things worked out I did go back Saturday night, and they booked me into the same room for $40. I didn’t get any of my 63 from the night before back, but I thought the end deal was fair. The room was clean, I walked barefoot on the floor, and no lingering smoke smell, because years ago in this little older hotel there had been smoking. The bed was very clean and comfortable. I had no remote problems, and the bathroom had shampoo soap, and all the paper and tissue I needed, with an extra roll of tp even. About the ashtrays on the air conditioners - if you know anything about Sheboygan at all, you know that there is no tourism in the off-season here, really. Motels need to make money to stay in business year round tho, so they do rent the rooms out to locals for extended stays. With the ashtrays out there, and I did notice they were being used, I didn’t see one cigarette butt on the ground, And when I was there it was cold so nobody was really out there milling about smoking. Same thing with the sheet of “extensive rules “ that you must read, initial and sign. They are just letting those locals know that any roudie, drunken behavior and loud noise that would bother other guests will not be tolerated. Again, I see nothing wrong with this. The staff was very nice, very friendly, and appeared willing to provide anything that I might need. I will stay here again next visit if I decide to hotel it.

For the past five years we have come to Sheboygan for a week or two in spring or summer to visit family. In all of those trips we have stayed at Fountain Park Motel and have never been disappointed. Granted, this is an older motel. If you are looking for glitz, cookie-cutter accommodations and a chain-owned place, go somewhere else. But if you want charm and the opportunity to stay somewhere run by a local owner, give this a try. It's across the street from a park, around the corner from downtown and across the parking lot from a nice restaurant frequented by locals. The price is good and the motel is fine.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL!!! I thought I was getting a good price at $90/night in the middle of the the Airventure week. But don't be fooled, the price says everything! It looks like it was built in the 1950's, which isn't an issue if it were clean. When we pulled back the bed sheets it was obvious this place doesn't actually change their linens. There was hair all over the sheets and dirt where the feet go. It was so disgusting! I went to the lobby to complain and get clean linens and they were frustrated that I had the gaul to bother them for clean linens. The night gal even scoffed at me when I complained about it. Regardless, if you can't trust a property to change their linens, you can't trust that anything is clean or done correctly. Also, their wifi if horrible! I reiterate, do not stay at this motel!!!

Room tip: Do not visit this hotel!!!
