I can only comment on the experience of eating in drinking in the pub portion of the brewery as the tours were full for our impromptu visit! Firstly, it is set up like a German beer hall, which I think is a great concept. You can grab beers, or food, or both, and just hang out! The brewery is situated on the Milwaukee River, and has outdoor seating. We took advantage of both the indoor and outdoor spaces during out visit.
The beer selection is excellent with a great variety to choose from, as well as a selection of 3 pour sizes. My favorite beers were growing power and new grist ginger.
The food that we sampled were the cheese curds, deluxe pretzels, and pork tacos. The cheese curds were phenomenal! Very lightly breaded (just how I like 'em) served with a garlic ranch. Definitely in my top 5 for curds. The pretzels were good, nothing special in terms of how soft pretzels typically go. I did like the touch of all the different seeds, reminded me of an everything bagel. The dill & herb quark they came with for dipping was very tasty. The tacos were delicious. I was not expecting such a flavor explosion from brewery tacos. The Gouda, chimiccuri and mircogreens was a great twist on the standard pastor taco. Great flavor, and they were a decent size.
All in all the brewery had a quirky, relaxing atmosphere, and I would definitely love to return for a tour, and more curds!
