As a native river-wester I've been to Cafe Corazon many a time, however tonight was by far the worst dining experience i've had. It was obviously a busy Sunday night and were told over the phone it'd be a 20min wait, though my friend and I were sat right away... sounds nice, except for the fact we were sat immediately in front of a wide-open door exposing just to the 50 degree Wisconsin weather. They disregarded us literally shivering for an hour and didn't close the door until we got our check which was ironic. The service was very slow; we didn't receive waters until mid-way through our chips and salsa, and neither were refilled until 5-10min after they were emptied. Our waitress came to our table a grand total of 4 times - granted there was a rush, and they seemed short staffed, but come on! I ordered a $7 cocktail from the bar which might've well have been rose-flavored water it was so weak (usual since Corazon is known for excellent, and thus properly strong, margaritas). Definitely going to hesitate going back.

Hello!

I'm so disappointed to hear about your poor experience last night. We kept the door open to better serve our guests dining outside (despite the cold, some guests still choose outside dining!), and are regretful that it impacted your experience so much.

I realize this is far from your only complaint about your time with us last night. If you'd care to follow-up further, I can be reached personally at cafecorazonriverwest@gmail.com.

Thank you for taking the time to give this valuable feedback.

Went for Sunday dinner after looking on their website. Drove a distance and arrived. Walked up to the door and saw a hand written note thay they were closed for a staff meeting. Don't you think this is pertinent info to put on a web site? Disappointing.

We went to Cafe Corazón on a Saturday evening. We had to wait for 30 mind for a table. They really don’t have a good area to wait in, so we were crammed in the front entrance area.

They have a good selection of margaritas and Mexican beers to choose from.

We were seated way in the back, but not in the room with the bar. It was a little quieter.

The service was ok. Our food came out quickly. The wet burrito was huge and I almost couldn’t finish it.

I’ve heard good things about Café Corazon so I was looking forward to checking it out. 4-5 stars for the food, and sadly 2 stars for the service. When we came in, the restaurant was almost empty as it was between dinner and lunch. The food was delicious – we tried the salmon burrito and the enchiladas with mechada (pulled beef). The chips and salsa were great. However, when eating spicy food…it’s expected patrons would be drinking a fair amount of water. We each had a separate beverage, but our server almost ignored us after our food was dropped off. At one point we finally needed to flag them down to ask for a refill on water. When they returned and filled one glass, they disappeared almost immediately, leaving the other three glasses empty. I would return for the food and hope for a better experience service-wise, but it was definitely disappointing.
