While this quirky hotel is located on the corner of 6th and Scary, we have stayed there several times now, and are always pleased. It's quite special for the low price, clean, terrific breakfast, friendly owners, dependable shuttle driver, free parking. The interesting range of guests just adds to the experience.

My initial review of the hotel is a good one. Walked in to check in, the receptionist was nice, the place was clean and they had art work all over the place. My girl and I were thinking this was going to be a nice place to have a quiet night together. :D We went to dinner, came back at about 9m. There was a small party happening at the front door entrance tent (nothing crazy but they were having a good time) We got to the room. Very clean. modern updates. Everything was in order.
This is where the it all went sideways.
I decided to go get some ice to chill the wine my girl and i would enjoy while watching a movie. the aforementioned party, had gotten bigger,..and louder. Still not a huge deal, were on the 3rd floor afterall. Get back to the room and the people who booked the adjoining room checked in. By 10 pm the baby still wasnt put down and was screaming..for the next 2 hours (i understand babies can be difficult) Im sure the parents screamimg at each other didnt help the child sleep, or the fact they never tried to put the child down to bed. And of course its hard for a child to sleep when the wife/girlfriend walks into the room and starts a fight with the man. which went on for 20 minutes. Fianlly having enough i called the front desk, who did promptly send security(she did offer to move us, but its almost 1am by this time and im in no mood to get out of bed and move to another room). Security arrived with a knock that would have woken up every other room on the floor if they were not already awake from the two idiots in the room next to us. When they answer the door, the first words out of securities mouth was "Yeah we've had a complaint of fighting from room 313" (THAT WOULD BE US) Thanks security, you obviously dont realize what your words will do after you leave. We packed our things and decided that there was no way we were going to have a decent night sleep after that. Upon entering the lobby, we saw a guy (trashed, with eyes swimming in every direction) getting carried out by three other men. The receptionist upon seeing us said "Im really sorry, we can move you to another room!" (Ill pass on an extended nightmare at this point) People were still under the tent at the entrance as we left (its also where they "poured" drunk guy into a seat) The steps were wet as we walked out, not that alarming of course, but then i could smell the vomit which must have been washed off prior to our exit. .another nice touch.
I would have asked for compensation whether it be a voucher for another night.. but i dont think it would be a different night..and I also thought about asking for my money back. but that would have made me stand there for 20 more minutes and not getting back home til almost 2am. Thank you Days Inn, i know where not to spend my money again, and where NOT to send my friends.

I was a little nervous to stay here after reading the negative reviews. But, I had already purchased the groupon and I didn't want it to go to waste. We arrived on a Friday night around 6pm to find the police at the front desk. Not a good way to begin! But, things went uphill from there. Our room was clean although small. Reminded us of European hotels. We had dinner reservations downtown and it was a quick 10 minute drive. We were on the 3rd floor and it was mostly quiet overnight except for a few people talking in the hall during the night. We had to leave early the next morning before breakfast started at 7am but coffee was fresh and hot. I'm not sure if I would stay there again but it fine for the Groupon price.

We selected this hotel for our very first trip to Milwaukee because it was located close to the Bradley Centre for hockey and as we used booking.com because of its reasonable price. We were pleasantly surprised. Manager Patrick checked us in very quickly. Our room was lovely. It had a microwave, frig and coffee-maker on a separate little counter. (I appreciated that the coffee-maker was not in the bathroom as is so often the case.) The bathroom contained a large shower. When we asked about places to eat, we were given a detailed list with a personal explanation. When we decided, Patrick gave us explicit directions to a great spot called Pitches. We would definitely return. We were pleased with the free shuttle and it arrived promptly after we called for the return trip. The hot breakfast exceded our expectations. The staff was continually cleaning and tidying the area. We enjoyed the colourful art in the room and in the common areas; some of it for sale. We will definitely stay here when we return to the city.

We checked in late Thursday evening and were greeted by a very friendly gentleman at the front desk. Don't remember his name unfortunately, but he was also there when we checked out Friday morning. He was very knowledgable of the area and offered to help us find whatever we needed and told us about their free shuttle within a 2 mile radius. The room was small, but had everything you would need packed in without being too crowded. Our one-queen bed room had a fridge and microwave. This "Hotel of the Arts" was interesting. The art wasn't necessarily my taste, but it was better than the paintings of a 'meadow' that you see in most rooms. There was definite wear and tear throughout the lobby, elevators, and bar, but it didn't look dirty. Breakfast the next morning was nice - scrambled eggs, sausages, tater tots, waffle maker, etc... We would definitely stay there again. I got a deal on this hotel through travelocity and thought the value was great. But now looking at the regular rate prices, I'm not sure I would pay $120 a night to stay there.
