“Absolutely superb”
Reviewed 17 April 2012

I spent three nights at the Hampton in Downtown Milwaukee and can think of nothing hugely negative to say about it. Superb location on Wisconsin Avenue which is one of the main thoroughfares in the city and ideal if (like me) you prefer to use public transport.

My main reasons to be in town were to visit MillerCoors Brewery and sport, all of which could be easily accessed on buses from outside the hotel or just on the next corner - they would always usually be outside but one of the bridges is being rebuilt at the moment so some buses are being re-routed.

Rooms were clean, comfortable and well looked after. I was on the eighth floor and had little in the way of noise from outside. Breakfast was excellent and there was always tea and coffee available in the foyer. An added bonus was the manager's welcome drinks (not sure if that is a once a week thing though) and the weekend breakfast offering. Also very impressed by the staff, who were friendly and helpful. One small gripe was being charged for parking which would have been a miracle since I have never driven a car in my life, but that was soon removed from the bill with sincere apologies and obvious embarrassment from the different staff on duty when I left.

But that would not stop me visiting again as it is such a well positioned hotel. Ideal for the Bradley Center and all downtown attractions and good as a base for travelling a little further afield.

Arrived for a one night stay in Milwaukee at the tail end of our college scouting tour to realize we made a mistake on our dates of stay. There was a "cheese convention" in town and all rooms in downtown hotels were booked. Hampton's only available room was a small double (we originally booked a suite). Billy at the front desk was amazingly patient, kind and helpful. He called around and found out this was our only option. We were traveling with two teenage boys. We were able to place a rollaway in the room and it worked out nicely. Room was clean & surprisingly quiet. Location of the hotel is ideal. We were able to walk to MSOE, had lots of restaurants close by to choose from and even able to do a bit of shopping at the Grand Ave. mall. Parking at $13.50 in connecting parking structure with in/out privileges was convenient as well as the free wi-fi, complimentary breakfast and Wednesday evening reception. Drove to get some Kopp's frozen custard and burgers (yummy!) and visit the beautiful Art Museum out on the lakefront. Our vacation ended on a high note due to the awesome staff at the Hampton Inn.

This is a perfect spot to stay if you want to be right in the heart of downtown milwaukee. Close to the theater and many nice restaurants. I consider myself to have a form of "hotel-phobia" and I actually felt very comfortable here. The room was nice and clean. The bedding is plush. No complaints

This hotel is in an absolute great location in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. The staff was extremely friendly, and went over and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable. Our room was on the 2nd floor, and it was a suite. The suite was comfortable, had two double beds and a pullout sofa bed in the living space. The breakfast, which was free, consisted of cereal, a few hot items (eggs, ham), and a special sauce. They also had a waffle bar, which was phenominal!

Parking is not that expensive at $13.50 per night, and the entrance to the garage is around the corner from the hotel. (You pull a ticket, park on the 2nd level at one of the designated check-in spots, enter the hotel - there's an entrance next to the check-in spots - go down to the lobby and exchange the ticket for a parking pass.) The parking area seemed very secure, and I had no problem parking there.

The area around the hotel had a little activity at night, seeing as there are several restaurants in the area. There is a shopping mall attached to the hotel, although we didn't get to visit it on this trip.

All in all, an excellent experience, and we will visit this hotel again when we return to Milwaukee.

Room Tip: Try to check in as early as possible as upgrades may be available!

Great Location. Convienient and reasonably priced parking. Hotel was VERY clean. Staff very friendly and seem to care about whether or not you have everything you need. Nice touch to have breakfast and wifi included in price of room. We also enjoyed the 24/7 coffee, tea, hot chocolate bar which was always very clean and well stocked. Also, the beds were very comfortable. We would definately stay here again.
